in den end it was a successful airdrop to 1500 people which gave NEM a big advantage in coin spread

But either way, there is truth that Japanese are starting to invest into cryptocurrencies

There is ~5 large multimillion dollar corporations in Japan getting ready to launch their own exchanges and more likely coming in the next months

Japan also will make bitcoin taxless by July, so the market will be growing in large

NEM also needs greater exchange exposure. For some reasons XEM is not yet traded on many important exchanges, there is a list where ETH is traded and XEM is not right now, so as you can see there is plenty of space for additional volume for XEM. And I'm not speaking only few pairs that are traded with XEM. Is there any effort to get XEM on these exchanges?

And to add to my previous comment, ETH is doing only 30% of its volume on Poloniex, whereas XEM about 70%. It means there might be about double to triple additional volume if XEM is traded on all exchanges where ETH is traded.  Considering that both projects have quite the same age and maturity, I can't see any reason why exchange exposure should not be similar.

Some of those exchanges don't get any bigger. XEM would have to be at the tippy top for a long time for them to consider it. There's no shortage of other coins with similar volumes. In another few months it may be kicking enough arse to be considered.

I think it'll make more of an impact in Japan and then work its way over. Japan sounds like they're about to rev up.

xem is listed on poloniex though. if polo added xem the rest may consider adding it when they see its price rockets soon. its found on bittrex and polo, alot of coins were wantig to be listed on these exchange for its volume which is enough for price to go up. all it needs now is just news and development.
