Guys i compared our forum to doge forum and realised they have MUCH more advanced tech in creating gifs and memes! I even saw a gif of a doge in a spaceship flying to the moon!
This has to change and it's our job to keep our forum newbies friendly and fun! Even Lemon stopped making pictures.
But seriously how can those coins gain on value just cos of marketing, unbelievable  

freshmeat easily attracted to name of the coin/really good marketing or manipulated by shill from polo trollbox for short term gains.
NEM might be a victims of things like this too but there's no denying that NEM has a really good technology, but right now its a high chance
that good marketing dictates the price of a coin

NEM's current problem is that it hardly produces news. Behind the scenes there is hard work being done on Catapult which will drives the prices as soon as it has been released. Until then the price will probably hardly move upwards. In my opinion, it is more important that the team focus on the development of this important milestone and not on short term price increases.

XEM -4% in Poloniex.
In the last 2 days there were couple attempts for a rise but they did not last.
Anyway the volume in "drop" is quite thin, like indicating that
a) there is not any big consensus about the direction - maybe some want to drop the course.
b) new buyers are waiting.

Why would anyone sell now, when there has been 2 days quite peaceful period, kind of waiting a new hop to a new peak.

i like what nem stands for - "new economic movement" - very powerful acronym. also attracted to the elegance and simplicity of design. after doing some research i believe that nem is the future of blockchain technology. i think nem will easily beat out ripple and stellar lumens and will eventually be more practical than many of the other competing currencies.

imo nem strategy is subtle and smart - it promotes community and sustainability while avoiding hype. the kerouac quote in the spec sheet is what sold me on nem.

i think eventually nem will need a larger media presence, which i imagine will start happening after project catapult, but at the moment i believe nem is doing well avoiding the hype. seems to me like the whole project is designed to be very organic.

wishing i could have got in earlier, but still looking forward to hitting that 10k before the end of summer !

The people on this forum are pumping Ethereum as though it's the holy grail with all the scam ICOs that are being based off of it. To each their own. It's better than bitcoin as far as scalability goes but for it to replace bitcoin as a currency would be a shame because NEM is  capable of so much better scalability. I guess the market will decide!  I'd hardly call ETH's 15 transactions per second the boon of speed though.

Frankly the whole market looks ready to roll over and crash.. except for ETH.  This was not totally unexpected by me.
