To all the guys who have been here from the start of nem announcement, how many cashed out more than a million $ (or several million) during 2017-2018 peak time? I confess I did Despite all the bashing I did at nem and nem developers back in 2014-15, thank you guys. People forget that I owned nem stakes even when I was trolling a lot here. Ethereum was good too. I still own a lot of nem. If only I had held on to my stake for 1.5 more years, I would have been in the same boat as you. Alas, I settled for a 10x profit as opposed to a 500x profit. What's funny is I trolled here quite a bit too in the early days. I rarely click on this thread but I did today because I recognized your name. Remember kodtycoon? He sold his account a while back -- must have cashed out early than either one of us! I still kick myself for not holding longer from time to time but ultimately its just one of those "woulda, shoulda" type deals. Guys what were your agenda here back then?! Why were you trolling? Was it to lower the price and buy more XEM cheaper or what? Nope, I've never engaged in that tactic. As things are now, the forum was rife with scams even back in those days. There was a big to-do with the original dev, UtopianFuture, creating a bunch of sockpuppet accounts in order to get more stakes -- kind of went against his whole idealist philosophy of a "fairly distributed" coin. So, trust wasn't very high. Of course NEM went on to achieve levels of success most of us never thought were imaginable. I also used to refer to Ethereum as "Disappeareum" before its launch because it took so damn long to release... Whoops. not true. I have seen that he admitted to have some extra profiles to get some activity to the new coin - not getting stakes.

wrong. sb. "we think" ... The term "sockpuppet" was used in the stake claiming process, not if someone has many profiles. Utopianfuture's profiles were for populating the site(s), not for claming stakes. That was in his last statements. Show the link, where is proven that Utopianfuture had sockpuppets for claming stakes. Generally: It is sad that some people say negative things about people who are not present.

Utopian could have just been open about it and assigned himself some stakes, no one was going to argue with him about it. kodtycoon made a few statements of regret from selling early if I remember correctly, and that was during the $0.20 USD run NEM had about 1+years before 2017. Remembering now, many of the devs gave themselves extra stakes and no one argued about it. Problem was when utopian decided to be deceitful, but who cares. That's ancient history in crypto time.

yes, I know that post. And there is the statement " I had a few sockpuppet accounts but I have no intention of cashing out any of them. I did not write down the sock accounts (using an arbitrary password that I can't remember) neither and plan to donate the fees for the development fund. I created sock accounts to keep the thread at a high demand when we have few supporters", which I meant by saying "profiles were for populating the site(s), not for claming stakes". My first comment was against nutildah's "to get more stakes". - "... some extra profiles to get some activity to the new coin - not getting stakes." The term sockpuppet I saw first time, when the NEM stake claming started. And because there is not proven that Utopianfuture has used sockpuppets to claim stakes, then I think that he had no 'sockpuppets, just extra 'profiles'.

Anyone with suggestion for light weight and good NEM wallet to store its assets/tokens ? I have not used any wallet in past that's why instead of doing my own research better ask here those already are actively using it. I don't want full node wallet with gigabytes of storage just something which to meet my requirement.

Don't know why you're so adamant about rewriting history. From gentlemand's link: I had a few sockpuppet accounts but I have no intention of cashing out any of them. No intention of "cashing out" what exactly? DOGE? He was obviously hoarding NEMstakes. And I don't give a shit any more but it irks me when people try to claim that things that were, weren't, or vice-versa. A sockpuppet is an extra profile. What you're doing is saying a square isn't a rectangle.

Use the official wallet (NEM Nano Wallet) You can download it from here https://nem.io/downloads/Before you fund your account make sure you have the backup of your wallet (.wlt) file and password or private key or both in some safe place.

I don't get it. Why sell everything? Even though I made insane amount of cash, I left plenty of nem, ETH, BTC (and other crypto) somewhere in cold encrypted wallet, just so that someday, 5, 10, or 20 years from now, I won't regret selling everything. Maybe everything will go to zero in 20 years, but who cares? I would rather still own some even if it's zero than not own anything. I actually do own a lot of dead coins that I never ever sold but they are all dead. Oh well.. so what.

According to what he said, he was going through some financial hardships and had to pay for school. He also earned a degree if I remember correctly, so not all went to waste. At least NEM was helpful for him when it was needed the most, which I can say probably is the case with a lot of people here.

Guys, is there a good resource to read up on NEM and its unique attributes? I have to admit I know very little about it, even though it has been among the top coins for a while.

If something is not proven, then it is not so. Do you know what "Innocent until proven guilty" means ? 1. UtopianFuture admitted to having sockpuppet accounts 2. He admitted using those to claim NEM stakes. These are facts. Its proven. The accused admitted it. Case closed. https://asktom.cf/index.php?topic=649852.0

curious how much XEM a NEM supernode would produce in a year? here is the answer: https://www.gostake.com/Home/Advance?cur=XEM&aType=SN&from=1/21/2018%2011:18:44%20AM&till=1/21/2019%2011:18:44%20AM&BaseCurrency=NC------------------ Today, I am proud to announce the launch of http://gostake.com. Gostake is being launched by a project I am deeply, and passionately, involved with, and is the culmination of the vision of three long-term crypto enthusiasts (myself included). The vision was to create a tool that could address the gap many crypto investors and enthusiast alike face when trying to analyse profitability, income and general coin earning mechanics for coins that generate rewards (Masternodes, Supernodes, POS, etc) Gostake uses historic data to analyse and create projections (based on parameters) to predict future performance. It delivers this information in a summarised, advanced customisable view that incorporates a “What IF” calculator to create projections based on the pertinent variables. These projections can then be shared via a link (retaining the base parameters so they can continuously be tweaked) I would welcome any feedback to improve our product, and/or to incorporate more functionality that you would find useful! Please use the “Contact Us” webform on the website. https://www.gostake.com/
