Apologies for cluttering up the 'Speculation' thread, I did post this to the 'Support' thread yesterday with no response. Hoping that someone can relay to the dev team.I am attempting to compile the Monero 32-bit Windows GUI from source. I am getting the following errors when running - in Qt C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lboost_serialization-mt C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lboost_thread-mt C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lboost_system-mt C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lboost_date_time-mt C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lboost_filesystem-mt C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lboost_regex-mt C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lboost_chrono-mt C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lboost_program_options-mt C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lssl C:/Qt/Tools/mingw530_32/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-w64-mingw32/5.3.0/../../../../i686-w 64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lcrypto collect2.exe: error: ld returned 1 exit status Makefile.Release:133: recipe for target 'release\bin\monero-core.exe' failed mingw32-make[1]: *** [release\bin\monero-core.exe] Error 1 mingw32-make[1]: Leaving directory 'C:/msys64/home/compiler/monero-core/build' Makefile:34: recipe for target 'release' failed mingw32-make: *** [release] Error 2
It appears that I am missing dependencies. Qt is up-to-date as well as MSYS2. I am following the instructions found on github. I have very detailed notes which I am willing to share with the dev team if requested. Thanks, Can you post it in #monero-dev on IRC? Use this webapp client if you dont use IRC normally. Enter a username and the above channel name. http://webchat.freenode.net/

The sell side is absolute fakery, you see it without zoom. But buy side is devastated and medium-term downtrend firmly in place. I was originally on the opinion that we'll see it grinding down for some more time, but actually the momentum points towards a capitulation in a week. There will not be an easy recovery but the juiciest deals will be there soon, I believe.

Its a totally absurd idea. While it might not bother people just buying zcrash to buy things on DM it totally prevents it from being used as a means to store wealth privately.
DNM users have one very good reason to like cold storage. Best way of preserving illegally obtained assets while in jail! you can stash away money in any form or shape if you are determined to keep the authorities on poking their nose into it and with the advent of new currencies they will be having more options than having a few

Missing the "Click here to Contribute now" part ? The funding process starts with a proposal. When it has gathered enough positive feedback, and any further questions clarified, then it is opened for donations.

^^^^ last four posts posts above that one @kurious, well you asked..lol @nanobrain: Yep, I know... but at least it drew a few firm speculative comments (and a decent graph) out and interrupted the TC bashing stuff "bash...bash".....oh sorry. Yes, MasterLuc's stuff is always interesting. And it's interesting how there is a divergence of opinion and what that opinion is based upon. Yesterday, i'd have said that we have to go to .004 due to TA but now I'm looking at BTC at 740+ and XMR going up (on low volume admittedly). Who the hell knows anymore....you may as well offer a new born to the Gods.

That's a very bullish formation emerging on the one day BTC chart. What is the current received wisdom on how high it may go if we start testing usd$800?

There is likely a fair bit of hedging going into btc from institutional investors. Probably coupled with some announcement resolving the blocksize stalemate for maximum impact if they can ever agree. Once that happens we are in uncharted territories IMHO so this could go big. Way bigger than last ATH is possible

Without an increase in the blocksize, I don't see the justification from a fundamental point of view for an increase in the the Bitcoin price above its all time high. If there is an increase in the blocksize then multiply the maximum blocksize in MB by the ATH in USD. I would spend some time on this site https://blockchain.info/blocks to really understand what is going on with Bitcoin. I am talking fundamentals here. As for what crazy thing speculators will do who knows. There was the ATH of ~2.4 million USD for ZEC for example.

So yeah, she's full it seems and the bottleneck of backlog looks ever growing. But will this stem the hype? The last few days were completely out of my frame of reference. I am actually void of appropriate words for what I observed. But at least I finally understand that Zero Knowledge Proof refers to the buyer and not some tech.

I agree BTC has issues, but it seems to have no obvious end right now - what can watching transaction waiting times size and full blocks do, other than confirm there is an issue that is potentially crippling to growth. It's hard to feel confident in Core and its 'solutions' - but I don't see how miners will find consensus to act and go against them, so what can we do but watch as things limp on? I have stayed out of the debate - due to feeling inadequately technical to know what is right and just hoping it will sort itself out... But it doesn't seem to have thus far...

Hey, I know you weren't having a go at me...I was just having some fun And I agree with what you say re. BTC -- I have deliberately remained agnostic with regard to blocksizes/core/segwit and the rest; I have enough to think about in the real world without cluttering my head with all this technical stuff But it is disconcerting that the cryptosphere appears to be approaching such a significant fork in the road forward.

Nobody knew about bitcoin back in 2013 and now there are thousands more businesses and motivated individuals aware of btc and using it More than likely the next ATH will pull us up over 2k and maybe considerably higher than that....
