With Monero the problem is again privacy, right now it offers reasonable privacy, but once the RingCT gets cracked the problem is that every single transaction will be traceable, the entire blockchain will be exposed.
This is not the case with other privacy coins like PIVX and DASH, they are much more secure in that sense.

And when sha256 is cracked we can all get eachothers private keys and hack your bankaccount. And when we undertand how to make gold in the living room the price of gold will drop to zero. Kinda big ifs...

Another issue with Monero is the likelihood of big whales, that would be much bigger still than any Bitcoin whales, i don't think people hodling 500k XMR are rare in this community. You can bet your ass they will dump soon, people just want Dollars, not crypto, as sad as it is, it's still the truth of this world.

You have no idea if that is true or not. Also, having big holders haven't held BTC back from gaining a market cap of 70 billion dollars. There are people who can singlehandly crash the price of several large crypto currencies.


You have to do better than this.

But as long as RingCT stays strong Monero is a decent option technically.

when you read good news then HODL! and when you can't HODL anymore then buy more
XMR is under real value and soon we will have a good price, we not there yet...

EDIT: when mtgox stolen from me about 99% of my BTC with what i had and with new fiat i bought more ASICs and some more XMR and HODL.
In my opinion the BEST crypto is BTC and XMR and nothing else. before you start write i am wrong or right i repeat, in my opinion.

Now that the triangle is broken anything is possible. It's really a question of how much is Monero worth?

If Ledger pulls through with hardware wallets then we should easily make a move into the Top 3. (imo)

Right now we're only about 700 million shy of the Top 5 anyway. There's not really much in it between here and Litecoin.

But psychologically, taking out NEM, IOTA, Dash and Litecoin in one extended price movement would be enough to provoke a wave of mainstream interest and renewed confidence, which should easily take us up to the 10 billion mark.

Also, I predict Japanese markets.
