The Monero community has been warning of the dangers inherent in presales, premines, instamines, masternodes and dev taxes since 2014. Coins that have any of these are existing on borrowed time. FINCEN has outlined what they consider a decentralized cryptocurrency very clearly, and the presence of any of the aforementioned features is a clear violation.
Intelligent people would do well to remove coins that violate these standards from their portfolios before the hammer comes down. And rest assured that it will. The wheel of justice turns slowly, but it grinds exceedingly fine. Dash, Zcash, Ethereum, and many others are going to be ground into a fine dust.

This is possibly the best news I've read in months.
Really the only thing that happened today was the removal of a gangrenous toxic appendage that was beginning to decay the core of crypto.
So many scams are going to wither away now.
Additionally, it allowed the formation of a correction/consolidation phase that was quite sorely needed IMO.
Whether the market is cauterized or allowed to heal, I don't know.
I guess you mean ICOs. Seems like Fluffypony's trolling video about ICOs has been taken seriously by the government. You do not have to have seen FP's 'announcement video' to understand that the primary thing ICOs are doing is taking the already scam ridden world of Cryptocurrencies and magnifying the scummy parts to an extent it actually begins to threaten the valuable, purer aspects of the space. I am first for liberty. But it's hard not to be a little bit happy when you see the boot of an oppressive government actually come down on people who deserve it.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of ICO's. For every one good ICO, there are easily 20+ that are just there to ultimately steal money. It's just what's historically happened, and I'm not a big fan of anyone that wants my money.
More importantly are the questions - will the money that was in the ICO business-startup funding market find its way to a new one now? Or will the combination of the afflicted be looking to diversify outside of crypto?
Or will this be like cutting the head off a hydra, ultimately proving the legislation to be ineffective?
Regardless, I would expect that capital outflow from china will continue in some way.

We are oversold af. DASH and ETH at 0.07? Give me a break. We should be AT LEAST 0.07. XMR at 0.025 is simply stupid, and the market will realize soon. As to what that means for USD price I don't know, but I expect to see 300USD by mid 2018

I also get less and less interested with ICOs now. The way I see it, even if a project looks interesting, best to buy after they start listing the coin. It always gives good value when you buy up all the coins from the bounty and bonus dumpers. Will the money find a way? For sure. Will crypto suffer? I feel yes, but always the answer is,,, not for long.

Market is down across the board, this dump is not some kind of prophetic prediction about XMR on your behalf, maybe consider that before you celebrate. XMR is down less than:
* ETH * ZEC * LTC * DASH * BCH etc etc Everyone here doesn't give af what you think, as they have no respect for you.

You were proven wrong over and over again. Remember when it was at .011 and you said it's going down? And now the price is .0245. Just to illustrate the sheer magnitude of your stupidity, Monero could go down by half from here, and you'd still be wrong.

Well, what is happening now is also good, because it somehow cleanses the ecosystem of cryptocurrency world. It's like the Chinese government's warning about Bitcoin in 2013.

Lol I bought at 141$ and 120$, so not to happy to see prices falling. But I think there will be a resistance at 100$ mark, so hopefully markets re-establish themself and prices go up again

I bought 2000 XMR at $130, I'll be holding it for the long term. I will re-evaluate 3 years from now and report back to this thread. I'll keep buying the dips and hold at $70, $40, $10, $1, $0.5 if it ever reaches those levels. Just bought another 300 XMR at $102.
I do believe XMR will reach a minimum of $2,300/XMR and possibly even $13,000/XMR if not more 36 months from now. Unlike other coins, it is the only coin that has practical use and is used widely today, it is #2 in my eyes after BTC (#1).
All other coins are pure speculation at this point in time.

Not really, most days xmr has been just as red. And the big difference is that all those other coins are winding down from the spring 2017 alt bonanza.
Guess which coin wasn't invited.
Actually, XMR hosted that party in August 2016, watched carefully as every greedy scumbag in town showed up, and then barricaded the exits. The great crypto massacre is coming. It begins.

Respect. I share your opinion, over 3-4 years in Crypto and learned a lot to do not care about short glimpses. In a year from now on we will see XMR between at or over 1000 USD.
