Bitcoin will get mentioned someplace with lots of readers, a bunch of those readers will like the idea and try to buy Bitcoins, their price will rise which will draw even more people to "invest", which will drive the price up even more... until people decide that the price isn't going to rise any more and everybody rushes to sell before the price drops.  I predict there will be between one and five Bitcoin bubbles (price will double or more and then crash back down below the starting price) in the next four years .

So, is this the second 50% crash or am I missing one here?

Nice one! So the hope isn't lost and with the flood of new MtGox accounts we see 300 USD before the end of the month?

If the price touches $300 on MtGox before the end of the month, I'll give you one whole shiny bitcoin.  This time I'm certain I won't be giving any bitcoins away.  This move was decisive, the number of bitcoins to be sold is piling up as people hope to get out, and a substantial amount of money has probably left for good.  There's really only one way from here, and it's down.

Pirate intraday was about 50%, so I would say we currently have only one, from 2011.

Now, for this to really qualify as a crash, I would like to see a weekly red candle

I thought it would go up to 200$ next hours maybe... dunno. I am beginner and try to understand all that lol.

Well a weekly red would be a first for 2013. I think the confidence of many people has been shaken by the severity of this crash, in the press I see many 'analysts' declaring the bubble to have finally burst and stating the price will go down to January levels (which would most certainly be very unlikely).
 
So I think the recovery may take a bit longer than usual. Most important thing is to explain why Bitcoin has so much future potential and is not just a vehicle to double your money every week. My estimate is that Bitcoins intrinsic value at this time is between $20B and $200B, based on the unique properties of this groundbreaking technology.

sorry guys i made dent at the 140 wall. Had to cash out.  50% drop with ddos is too much. I feel lucky cashing out at this price because i had my sell window opened during the ddos and the order went through.  GL to everyone else. I hope you all made out with some money.

If it breaks 100 i might buy back some at 40-50 range, if it breaks 200 i'll buy back. hard to say. Too much uncertainty
