You're going to find it hard for anything that doesn't have lots of $$$$$$ signs in it being anywhere close to DDoS proof.
How DDOS proof does it really need to be. I'd suggest the announcements still get posted here too, so it wouldn't be like taking down the blog would black out all ASICMINER information. What would be the consequences of having the blog taken offline by a DDOS

The guy I quoted thought that paying wordpress directly would make it DDoS proof, I'm merely saying that is simply misguided and such a thing scenario would cost a lot of money. What's wrong with a cheap blog? What's wrong with mirroring it on a cheap VPS as a hidden service? And why wouldn't he also make those posts here? He doesn't even have to run the blog, someone else could and just copy his posts he makes here to it. It would only be a convenience factor.

Not as far as anyone knows. There was one guy that claimed that a key insider in Avalon had covert ties to ASICMiner, but it turned out to be a false claim with no evidence and the poster later said he had no evidence and only thought it would be good for ASICMiner if this was the case. In other news: ATH broken today on BTCT PT (฿1.78). Make sure you do the math to determine whether the herd is right. .b

It will be interesting to see how much of this week's earnings is from hardware sales, and at what rate sales continue. As pent-up demand subsides and the network hash rises you'd expect sales to naturally decay, so perhaps it's better to look at this as a one-time shot at some bonanza profits rather than a consistent earner ('one-time' could still mean several weeks or months).

Well the fundamentals are looking good strong mining ability good sales == stable profit so can see why the price is appreciating Also if the difficulty stays consistent then longer periods at a lower rate is better than a high rise in difficulty for currency appreciation With units for sale as well if that occurs so makes good sense

I am wondering why it has been almost a week that the AM hashrate has not increased at all, I thought the plan was to add progressively up to quite a lot and since right now the market share of AM is not that high there is no reason I can think of to not add more ?

Where are you looking for the total hashrate?

Hopefully friedcat will provide an update on this with the next dividend announcement. There could be a technical problem that is delaying this, or potentially they are refactoring their data centre space, which requires off-lining blades for a time. My guess is that AM got to 30% of the network hash rate and decided they didn't want to go any higher. The rewards for doing so start to decline noticeably. ASICs from other shops have not come on at the rate they were predicted to. The success of the hardware sales of the last few days may have prompted a temporary change of strategy. Sell hardware -> push network hash rate up -> decrease own share of network -> increase profitability of deploying more hardware.

Perhaps friedcat sold all this week's new deployment in the blade auction :-) Seriously, I'm confident that friedcat would let us know if something was a problem or breaking of plans. .b

Well the dividend is tomorrow if I am right So we can see the actual growth, there's a lot of shares moving back and forth 0.0158 to 0.0161 on havelock 1.57 to 1.67 on btc-e When I looked Was up to 1.78 A few hours back on btc-e and 1.7 havelock so moving down but expect a higher rise on the dividend again haha Wide gap day Seems like the gap is syncing now but it was pretty big yesterday between those two exchanges But the 1.5 on the forum is a bit cheaper atm

I'm not sure why the price took a dip today. Who would sell at these prices on the eve of a very exciting dividend (could be the biggest one, yet)?
I wish I had more btc to buy more shares!

Because there's an issue at mtgox that flushed out weak sellers. The speculators have discovered AM. Those weak sellers could be feeling a bit sheepish in 24 hours. Shafted on the way in, shafted on the way out. We'll see.

Yeah, but like volatility in BTCUSD is bad for BTC, volatility (and bruising of novice investors' noses) in BTC asset market is bad for BTC asset market. We don't need bubbles any more than BTC does; we need stable, serious players, with understandable valuations. AM is as close as we get, and when AM gets a punch in the face on the market, that's bad for everyone. I'm not sour, I'm still way into the green on my AM investments, but I'm afraid that the MTG/Dwolla combined with what may have turned out to be a bubble in AM prices may be bad for the short-to-medium term. Long-term, well, we don't even know if BTC will exist :-) .b
