I have a feeling that the estimations are way too high compared to the actual market price.It's an estimator and your account is only worth what people are willing to pay for it which changes per person.

Maybe theymos has intentionally blacklisted such bots to put a hold on account trading?
People are farming accounts and this forum is turning into a spammers hub.
I won't be surprised if this turns out to be true.

Certainly not, more due to the easing website functioning,
we are constantly dealing with difficulties accessing website for a large number of browsing people.

I don't think a single crawler was putting any load on the servers.I think the website used to analyse accounts by stacking the queries, one by one(correct me if I am wrong).
So, it won't make any difference to the performance if it is blocked or not.
Probably, account farming is the main reason for this.

Theymos switched to Cloudflare and that's blocking basically all bots at this point in time. That's why the site is down now.

Why forum can't have its own activity counter, I don't think price estimator is needed anymore after a stand taken against the account sales by some reputable members of this forum.
You made that bot for a reason, ask theymos if he can include a shorter version of that into the forum only to count post and activity.

Yes you can by knowing when every period starts and when it ends and if at least 1 post was made in each period in order to include it in the calcul of the potential activity.

For the periods before July 2015 you can calculate it knowing that the period lasts 14 days and starts in Tuesday.

This site isn't an official one and the price of the accounts in it isn't accurate since it is no more the first intention to keep the site running.
Selling accounts isn't prohibited but you may risk getting a negative trust from other members when you try to sell it.

Forgive my lack of intelligence if I may sound stupid but you can always programmatically browse a website just like you would do with an actual user and bitcontalk wouldn't see it as a spam bot unless you're opening multiple threads/spamming.

If you want a private kind of "Bitcointalk Account Price Estimator" website to use with your few accounts, you should probably be fine. You will probably only get marked as a "spam bot" if you have tons of users constantly making requests to check their accounts.

Oh sorry I almost missed that.That is indeed a pain!
I can understand the manual bot prevention didn't work out well but cloudflaire has it's own cons.This is an unusual cloudfliare behaviour to block multiple async requests maybe theymos has configured it with extreme measures to prevent all Ddos I believe.
