I've been following BTC for a couple of years but it wasn't until I wanted to play a poker tournament on Seals With Clubs that I bought a couple.  Bought at $17 but with fees and crap (bitinstant) I ended up with 1.9 BTC (I needed two for entry).  Played table games until I had 2+ coins and entered the tournament.  I didn't cash and was bummed our that I had lost all my coins but hey, it was a fun experiment!  

Fast forward a few weeks and BTC are at $50.  I checked my account and I didn't actually lose ALL of my coins, I still had 0.1 coins left!  Well, back to the tables and I have almost 0.5 BTC now so in terms of USD I'm actually ahead a little although that'd be by some shady book keeping.  I never thought exchange risk would come into play with poker bankroll management
