How do we configure our miners? Can you plug in a monitor, mouse and keyboard setup to them directly, or are settings accessed via LAN?

Exactly what I was wondering. KNC said it would be "stand alone". And what pool would we join to get running? Oh boy, this'll be fun. pretty sure its all done by lan, ssh login to the beaglebone then edit settings form there. should be quite simple really. Use any pool you like! |

LAN config will be necessary. The USB port 'reportedly' has been physically removed from the BBB. The stated reason was to prevent powered devices from reeking havoc. The mainboard pics shown with the BBB installed show open holes where the USB port goes. I have no idea if the HDMI port will work but it is possible that the Xwindow portion of Angstrom will be disabled to preserve resources for hashing. Hope this helps. When you ordered/paid the "hosting" product you have some additional config parameters under the Common Information tab:
Bitcoin Wallet: (free text field)
Mining pool (selectable list)
Pool Worker: (free text field)
Worker password: (free text field)
Looks like only when you choose the KnC Pool, the Bitcoin Wallet makes sense.
For all other pools you configure the worker and the rest at the other mining pool.
Maybe this is just the preconfig KnC will make and you later have access to do more advanced stuff.
At least the definition of a backup pool is missing.
I defined an external pool and sent KnC support a mail that they should configure their own KnC
pool as backup pool.
Let's see what will happen.

bed time I guess. I take it nobody has received a tracking number. No updates on their website or their forum either. I honestly don't care how busy they are, a simple tweet or post from some1s mobile is not too much to ask for. why bother to say shipping today (yesterday) or did cloudhashing get all day1 production units?

Seriously you are a member of the foundation and have no clue about normal hashrate variance?? Only thing thats "suspicous" is the drop but i guess that were the ddos attacks on guild etc.  Those guys were taking in a couple of grand dollars a day with a botnet? If they stay dead that's a nice potential hash drop. Gotta figure they're no dummies. Some probably bought KnC miners and post here. Maybe we'll hear, Oh so and so is gone from the forum, hauled off to the slammer for tax evasion. |

I have Cygwin installed on Windows, so I can do all the usual Unix stuff, including ssh.

A PDF download of a manual would be a wise thing to have available now they are shipping. In fact we would have been better to have it in advance. Can't be a large thing to produce after all.
