Not everyone who placed an order has paid yet, so they might not be sold out.

They are not going to find twelve hundred idiots in existing customers that quickly. Most miners with any experience realise that pre-ordering something for delivery in 7 months time in a market as volatile as bitcoin is stupidity too risky. And those of us stung by KNC's "Ship late, ship faulty" service won't be ordering again.

When BTC was around $100, the obvious move was to buy BTC directly instead of investing in mining hardware. Now that BTC is ~$1000, and a Neptune only costs ~10 BTC, buying BTC directly or holding is certainly not the obvious move to me.

As long as Knc delivers, and they have the best track record of any mining hardware manufacturer, I'm fairly certain that a 3000GH miner will earn back more than 10 BTC within a year (only ~.03 coins/day).

At this point with BTC at $1000, I'd rather invest in mining hardware than buy BTC directly.

But in 3 months BTC maybe 5000 USD and the unit may only return you a fraction of what you paid in BTC.

I'm new to mining and I do want to preorder a neptune ASAP, but I have to wait until the second batch is open to non-previous customers, which is for ~mid december it seems.

Someone already proposed to place orders for others for free, and I really thank him for this, but we newcomers in the bitcoin wolrd, currently need nearly 2 full weeks to be able to buy even one BTC after all the account verifying/transfer performed by all the banks working with sites like bitcoin.de is complete.
- 2/3 days to have an answer for why your account can't be automatically verified because their bank doesn't have contract with yours (happens with the majority of banks in my country)
- 2/3 days for a specific transfer with a code for you to send it via email
- 1/2 days for a reply and your account validation
- 2/3 days for your transfer to fund your online account
Banks don't work on weekends, so it really takes 2 weeks to enter the bitcoin world, which is of course what is really putting a break to its global recognition.

I'm pretty sure by the time I have 15 BTC (monday ?), all the orders will already be paid (I started all the verifying process 1 week ago).

But I'm not here for ranting, I just didn't want my first post in this forum section to be a simple self-interested question without some initial introduction of my current situation, just by respect.

So here it is : will there also be a reseller program for the next batch ? I mean with a bonus like what Wesly is doing, kindly offering ~200Gh/s for each unit acquired via his link ?

I think it's a nice way to incite people to buy more of those machines than what they originaly intended, and its presence will help the wait we have to endure until we're able to preorder those state of the art ASIC miners.

There is an option to pay via bank transfer.  So this person that offered to do it for free contact them.  But be careful, it's scam city out there.  

I would do it for you, but not for free.  I would do it for $200 + $500 to the Philippines appeal.  Im sure there will be other members, who will do it for free though.  Just be careful!
