Our little 3Th/s rigs will be little plastic Hess trucks compared to the big ones in the real world. Do you have any idea how much the difficulty needs to be in order for your words to turn true? Here are some simple numbers for you: For a 3TH/s machine to make 0.1BTC daily we need a difficulty of 15 billion. A difficulty of 15 billion = 107374 TH/s 107374 TH/s = 35791 Neptunes Another basic calculation: If you take all the predicted/estimated ASIC pre-orders in this topic: 22117 TH/s And multiply that by 5 just to be on the safe side = 110585 TH/s gets you a difficulty of 15.5 billion Is that simple enough? i like cant stand those bitching 24hours Exactly. These people lack basic math skills. I want to hear a good reason why a difficulty over 10 billion is to be expected in May/June, when all the ASIC hardware ever announced don't even amount to 5 billion.

I am using 2 Coolermaster V850 to power up 1 Jupiter november batch. All together is pulling 860-865 watt at the wall. Waiting for the rest of the jupiters. DON'T BUY LOWER THAN 1000 WATT PSU
With 855W at the wall a single V850 would be perfectly capable of running a November Jupiter. I will be powering 3 October and 2 November Jupiter with 2x V850 and 2x EVGA 1300W.

@CYPER No, the PSU will not have a Mean Time Before Failures of +100000 hours anymore, but will have a MTBF of less than 1000 hours. A hard lesson learn from block erupters. I will stay below 80% of max rating of PSU.

November Jupiters arrived today in the UK; orders in the 87## range.
One has a bad module, if it's connected the PSU trips out on a 1300 Watt EVGA supernova. If I connect it on it's own same happens, if I connect the other three modules they all work fine.
So bad module I guess, I've emailed support. Obviously this is not good as it'll have an effect on ROI.
One of the units is mine and the other my business partners so a bit awkward :-S
i had the same issue with one october jupiter until fw0.95 solved the problem. WARNING it's reported that none of the old firmware works with the new Nov miners. You could brick the device using anything but the supplied firmware.thank you for the usefull hint! very important! Yes, I was there... lost almost a day of mining :/ But, there is a way to fix it, since even after flashing it keeps the needed files: - login to your Jupiter by ssh mount -t vfat /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt/1 mount -t vfat /dev/mmcblk0p2 /mnt/2 cp /mnt/2/initramfs.bin /mnt/1/initramfs.bin shutdown -r now - after it comes back up, if it still doesn't work, do an hard reset and power off/on and then it should finally work did hno help you on irc then? Why would you assume that? Good quality PSU are designed with components in excess of the advertised wattage. If you ask Cooler Master or Corsair they will confirm that. Back in 2011 I have mined with HX850 for 4 months with 850W at the wall and then sold it to a fellow miner, who has been mining with it for a long time.

Neptunes can live through 1-2 extra billion and still be profitable at the current exchange rate  CYPER is perfectly right, no realistic projection using planned shipping from the different ASIC miner company can make your neptune non profitable, even if they all deliver in time in big quantities (unlikely TBH). On another note, LTC's Hashrate increased by 10% in less than 24H. BTC will be more profitable in a few weeks (maybe even days)  It only needs a much bigger initial investment.

I reckon thats just for flashing the beaglebone back to the stock firmware that it comes with, I don't think the modules can be flashed, they are controlled by the software in the beaglebone. I could be wrong however, maybe its worthwhile to check out the IRC channel and see if you can get some help from one of the engineers.

I'm assuming that you split the pci cable jacks betwen the 2 PSU - what order are you turning them on? do you turn on the supply with the beaglebone attached first or second? /cet

Ok guys i'm going to hook you up with a couple of firmwares imminently. But... But... (said twice for dramatic effect) One is for the November box. For the Ericsson VRMs - big yellow stickers, have Ericsson written on them, were delivered in November. One is for the October box. For the General Electric unbranded silver VRMs. The tuning suite. Make sure you use the correct one. It won't kill your device, but it may require you re-flashing the beaglebone via an SSD card if you flash the wrong one. It future a uniform intelligent release that differentiates between the pair will be available. Currently this therefore relies on the intelligence of the user, i.e. you. So...

Back in 2011 I have mined with HX850 for 4 months with 850W at the wall and then sold it to a fellow miner, who has been mining with it for a long time. I burn a PSU with block erupters. The PSU was at the 5V line 30 ampere. Not enough to power 60 block erupter for 2 1/2 month per PSU apparently. Now I am using 3 PSU to power 120 Block erupters instead of 2 PSU. I think I will stay at the safe side using 3 V850 to power 2 Jupiter instead of 1 V850 per Jupiter. If I am out of town and the PSU goes down I will loose BTC. Those PSU cost nothing compared what you will loose with down time.

This is the main reason I'd not leap into one now...a month may cost a little more but should things change drastically re that rate it could end up bad for today's buyers. Already those BTC are worth 10% more in a day...it gets to 2k by xmas and you paid 20k for that rig in BTC value. Dodgy times again but in a much nicer way than the last time. Good to see that KNC learned from the 1st batch and the 2nd is better. Now they need to learn to communicate a lot better and maybe get some staff in when they get to producing Neptunes and they have it cracked. That over worked thing is pathetic when all it means is poor planning in staff areas for that short period. As with many businesses are doing now for Xmas, hiring some temp short term peeps is sensible.

When did you pay and where from? I can not answer for him but for me  - I ordered and paid 26th via wire - showed "paid" next day -> Germany to Sweden ... so within Europe 1-2 business days
