the 10k price was a promotion for early adopters.....the 13k price is what they were always going to charge to "newbies" and everyone else.....
i don't see how this is so hard to understand, have you never heard of a promotional price before?

Unfortunately, going to need to add KNC to a list of companies I won't be dealing with after seeing this price gouging and ordering shenanigans for this next gen. (Excuse me ? You honestly wanted me to order your products through resellers that I have even less trust in than you ?!?)
Congrats to everyone that got in on this at $10k.
Newbies pay $13k ? Yeah, sorry Sam. Will be dealing with your competitors instead on principle. Life is too short to deal with that sort of nonsense.
Its not just Newbies, thats the price for previous customers as well. Are you completely discounting the events of last week where previous customers were able to order these for $10k ? Of course not, but I'm saying if I want to order another one now, I have to pay $13K as well. Just clarifying that its not just newbies that have to pay the new price, but existing customers who wouldn't or couldn't take advantage of the earlier deal. Its not like existing customers will still get the discounted price going forward is all I meant

Of course the real kicker is that I had to pay VAT on my $9995 which totals near $12,200 so not such a great deal in comparison to anyone buying one anywhere else in the world

Agreed but I think even the discounted price was still excessive. They have made a lot of money off us and could have cut the price further. By Sam's own admission they are betting on HashFail and ConTerra not delivering on time or to spec. The first batch Neptunes had better arrive quickly and destroy the competition so we make money again.

Just out of interest Xian01, who isn't on your shit-list of companies? I notice you spent $8600 on 360Ghs (180Ghs x2) Antminers but you don't think that 3TH a $13K is a good deal?
Do you really not understand the difference between a miner delivered *this* week, and one that might be delivered in 6 months?

Of course the real kicker is that I had to pay VAT on my $9995 which totals near $12,200 so not such a great deal in comparison to anyone buying one anywhere else in the world Tell me about it Just placed a 2nd batch order from the UK.... total was $15,810. OUCH. I truly hope the believers on here are correct, that KnC are worth the investment. I know there's a lot of speculation about future difficulty increases + the major amount of TH possibly coming online if the competitors manage to ship in Q1 14... (I've also got a Cointerra pre-order in).... but who can know? If these units are as good as they seem... BTC prices remain strong, difficulty doesn't go beyond sane levels... etc etc.... then at least a reasonable ROI can be expected/hoped for.. even if it's just a break even. Anyway, wanted to jump in. I know I'm a newb on this forum... but not new to the BTC world. Great place to come and learn.

IF they get all orders out in 2 weeks that is a great thing. For those that had their original orders canceled and were hoping to get in on the 2nd batch. Your queue situation would be welcomed.

Of course, thats why I paid over the odds for my Jupiter in October, then bought another one in November. But I'm curious as to the answer, I mean I could understand if it was only 1TH in 3-4 months but 3-4TH well I thought it was a good enough deal, maybe I'm the idiot, only time will tell

Neptune is a high-risk/high-reward bet.
