I must have missed something..... Can someone direct me to where it was stated that the Neptune deliveries would be separated in "Batches"? Just because there was an order gap, and price difference between Noobs & old customers, means nothing towards delivery time except we ordered first, and therefore get ours first... as far as I see... I cannot find anything to support the theory there would be some kind of gap between deliveries... remember last batch?

not batches per say, but on the site it does state the 13k price orders will come 3-4 weeks after first "batch" orders. It actually does say "batch" - Limited batch of 1200 units, -These boxes will ship 3-4 weeks after the first Neptune Batch

So are they rewarding their original customers with a discount and a few week of mining exclusivity or is it going to take 4 weeks of production to get the first batch out of the door.

I do think paying 3k more $ for being a first time customer is totally OK. What is really hard to understand is paying 3k$ more AND being delivered 1 month AFTER the 1st batch, which will be hashing by then, sky-rocketing the difficulty.
... <editted to reduce size> ...
To sum it up, first time customers have a 3k$ discount AND a 11K to 15K $ guaranteed added profit, at current BTC price. So a total of 14 to 18K $ gain, but most probably much more.
I guess if the only difference between me and the first batch guys is profit, then I'm semi-ok with that. KnC can do what they want with their business... and customers can vote with their wallets and either buy or not. There's no "fair" per se... business is business... and it would seem they are attracting the customers regardless, so who can fault that? Bottom line is... if it all goes tits up (in all the ways that have been discussed at length here), then the 10k customers are pretty much just as fucked as me ... except I am a few more $$$ in the hole. What the hell... My risk to take, and I'm in this thing with my eyes wide open.

https://www.kncminer.com/pages/paymentIn the end we have decided to open up to allow PayPal payments as well. The main reason for this was to allow people to enter the market. Rather than to only cater for people who have managed to trade or mine the appropriate amount of coins already.
Why did they stop accepting PayPal/CC? Having a payment method with some consumer protection was nice while it lasted.

On the CC side the only thing I can say is I can't understand why they changed their mind so quickly. Back in September they said "we are the first Bitcoin mining manufacturer to offer secure payments directly by credit card", and more to the point we all know about Orama's endorsement of secured payment. It was stickyed in the main page of "Custom Hardware" board for quite a while. Another thing that I've found strange was the trick that you had to play if you wanted to chose bank transfer as payment method for the first neptune batch.

I'm pretty upset as a previous customer that I didn't get any notification of the first Neptune batch. I've emailed them about that and they just replied that the second batch is open and available to purchase. Great customer service, right? Anyone else in the same boat?

This may have been for the first gen asic's However now that they are proven not a scam they do not need the overhead. one can argue that since people are buying up units at this price leaves little reason to use those payment methods.

So now instead of "Rather than to only cater for people who have managed to trade or mine the appropriate amount of coins already" it is "To cater only to people who are already our customers." Intersting business model. Seems to be working!

After seeing the batch 2 prices & 3-4 week ship delay, happy I went all in with Batch 1. My first neptune was 12.4 BTC but when I placed my next order I got 3 neptunes for under 30BTC after shipping! BTC price rise was a beautiful thing. I have no doubt each Neptune will mine more than 10 coins each.
Now I pray KNC offers a hosting service so I can dock the 4 of these for a year.

THANKS GUYS...see it... blind this morning....lol
I think that your auction of two machines that have not shipped is actually relevant here since you can tell the forum WHEN you get notification that 1019X has shipped so people can know what to expect since we are obviously not going to see them ship before Nov 30 and KNC is not saying much more than they will all ship by Nov 30, Wednesday, Friday....
