still nothing new from KnC about Nov batch delivery. My order is just "In progress".

Catching up on the last few pages.. lots of folks talking about why they didn't release something a smidge smaller than the Neptune so folks could still 'get into the game' or simply not spend as much for a Neptune. I understand that angle, and I'm one of the folks perturbed by it.

Keep in mind, however, what I mentioned many pages back. KNC at the outset wanted to 'eventually' get into the industrial market. This is their first major step toward that. The industrial market is, afterall, where BTC mining is going to go, as it will be required based on the difficulty.

Few home-based owners will be able to mine in a worthwhile fashion beyond, say, 2014, as a guess. TH is already the new GH, and after 2014, PH will likely be the new TH. Simple math and understanding of 20nm technology/current-requirements will show that the home-based user will simply not be able to do anything, unless they spend $$$$$ to install multi-phase and many panels. IE, Industrial.

That's likely why they're shifting their flagship systems this way. It would be nice for them to offer something less, but there are other companies who are doing just that. Black Arrow is one.

I understand they are already hosting quite a few Jupiters.  They're close enough that they drive to KnC and pick up the miners rather than having them shipped.

unless you've got 2 November Jupiters pushing 700GH/s each I find it had to believe you can mine 1 BTC a day.

Yes KnC aren't great at comms, they aren't the worst, but there is room for improvement. I wonder if the "glitch" in the ordering system at the end of last week put a spanner in the works and caused extra delay.

Right.  So OP's comment, while technically correct, was completely misleading.  His pool had a lucky string of days.  He will not make that day in/day out.

No.  I am used to building, programming, tinkering, rebooting crashed miners on a regular basis... these things are boring.  You plug them in, point them, and they mine.  They made a mining-for-idiots machine that just works.

I am now running 2 generations of these things, and there is simply nothing to do to them.  KnC is building a remarkable machine.

The November machines have been online now for a few days.  They are significantly more powerful.  Impressive gains in a short amount of time.

nooooooo... I don't know if all the Nov units are out, but I think most of them must be.  My nov units were order #92xx, got them Friday (USA).

92xx is nothing, I think the order #s go up to 105xx at least
