You are probably drawing too wide a conclusion when thats just the first example of a site but it should be possible to have more sites and general usage.  If I remember rightly, the token is a bigger deal then just 1 usage case
The understated point there is PLAY can be used not just on Herosphere, thats just the origin of the bigger picture and it'll have KYC because the operators judge thats correct procedure for that country etc.    Since we're always talking about global usage, multiple languages, cultures, various sports even potentially thats not the entire picture.   PLAY could be used elsewhere and in countries where KYC is not a restriction or hindrance to free exchange.   If thats true I'm still very optimistic, generally I hope KYC is developed properly standardised not varied as thats the confusion that can slow down people or discourage usage even

Thank you for clarifying. But in this case, it is very very bad news for HERO as a project.

I try to help here a little bit:
As already mentioned, herosphere and HERO is not the same. Herosphere could be operated without HERO (Like it did before) and HERO could be further developed without herosphere. So the KYC process in Herosphere is totally unrelated to PLAY investors.

Also I would like to mention that there are many projects who implemented KYC and I think that's a good sign and the only way to reach Mass Adoption one day.
I don't see any disadvantage in the KYC process for anyone, except those who try to do illegal stuff 😉

I think it's the worst thing which can be with you. You can lose many users from herosphere just started the kyc.

Lately a lot of projects asking to go кyc, although ICO is long over. Or кyc is only needed for users of the platform? Then it will reduce the number of users.

I guess KYC is definitely necessary as most crypto project are also required to implement it and this is required by Government and it has to be done to avoid any penalties or sanctions from them. Imho.

Isn't the aim of HERO to remove the middleman and wanting to keep the money/tokens with the users. Wagerr on the other hand takes a fee off the winnings bets. Unikorn I think is like a bookmaker and you bet against them. I like the Hero way of keeping the money/tokens with the users and not giving it to the house.

The most straightforward way to “be the house” is by operating an Oracle Masternode, a network component (or consensus agent) that earns half of Wagerr’s service fees for performing bookkeeping services. Oracle investors collect fees and systematically win, just like traditional bookkeepers.
