Its a good thing they are back and faster. There are lost opportunities that we could have taken during the days when they are out though but I'd still consider leaving some of my coins on them and trade whenever there's another chance to gain. Ripple is a money maker in this exchange. Hope the withdrawal will resume so complains won't flood.

Kraken-Septimus said they were disabled for 12 hours after the new trading engine went online. According to his post they should be enabled again within half an hour.

Please read through our latest blog post for details on how long it will take for certain features to return to normal. Withdrawals will be initiated after 12 hours and margin liquidations will be paused for at least 48 hours.

It sounds like they really are adamant that this is a 'bug' but I am a retired software eng in the industry for two decades on enterprise level and anytime a label verbiage stated 'disabled' etc it was indeed disabled, otherwise there would be some sort of error code or something.

The frontend code shows "Feature disabled" when it gets any error from the backend, no matter what the error actually is. Combination of sloppy frontend code, and some issue on the backend with verification.

The website is performing far better than what we used to see, especially in December. This morning the site is loading better than yesterday and working as we should except. Now awaiting to have all the features back fully.

Update - The system is performing and services are stable. There are minor issues being addressed (thank you for the reports). All funds remain secure as we continue preparations for withdrawal activation. We're continuing to closely monitor all services.

You cannot buy less then 30 XRP, and yes, it sucks. Bitstamp has a minimum order of 5 EUR. So if you have an account there, you can buy from there.

Site works quite well and much faster!!! At last some improvement from Kraken, let's hope they find their way back up.
Understandable withdrawal is disabled. The new engine has the highest risk of hacks and bugs the first days, and when money/coins are gone, they are gone and cannot be returned.

It would be a smart move to limit withdrawals to a fixed amount per day to start with Kraken???
We all need to move around some fiat and coins, so you cannot postpone forever.  When it is enabled again people will also start depositing more.

Kraken has always payed me my Euro's extremely quick (within 1 day), so I am confident the money is safe.

I keep reading in this thread that it's much faster. What is much faster? Much faster than before summer or after summer? According to https://status.kraken.com/ there still is lag > 1000ms and degraded performance.

I want to get back to Kraken as it's my favorite trading platform for the big coins, but I'm really hesitant as I've lost thousands of % (collateral in positions and opportunities) because of lag, unable to place orders and the absence of stop loss orders in only a few months. I still remember very recently when I tried to place for 3 days 4 hours non-stop xrp buy orders @ ~€0.19 and they didn't get through and few days later it mooned, while my newbie friend bought xrp from a retail website for €0.21 and he made over €50k in 1 week and cashed a portion of it out using the same website, you got my drift?

I need to consider my financial options if it's more profitable and less stressful to dedicate resources to crypto exchanges, forex brokers, investing in a portfolio and forget trading (as my newbie friend does) or in my company and continue my entrepreneurial journey. It looks like the newbies who buy and hold (investing) are reaping much more rewards without any stress vs the traders who are in constant uncertainty about the entire environment (functionality, safety, non existing insurance, risk/reward trades, a lot of dedicated time, etc.).

So, in summary, the questions I have are:
- How fast are orders placed in ms/seconds (not of your feelings or opinions)?
- No double order placements?
- Margin trading works?
- Downtime during trading?
- When are stop loss orders coming back?

Update - Our highest priority now is getting withdrawals back online. We expect to be able to reopen withdrawals no later than 01:00 AM UTC Monday (5:00 PM PT Sunday).
