I don't care for the price, I just want to see some big updates being finally pushed to the network.
The Ethereum's user-base has been shifting from "users" to "wannabe-investors" since 2018, probably just like the whole ecosystem to be fair... but I hope the developers haven't been distracted and focus on development rather than marketing.

A shiny chair made of thin crystal might be spectacular to look at, but I'd never "use" it.
Let's hope Ethereum doesn't go down this road, or even if it does, there'll be an alternative like LOOM or ARK to save the day, I'm fine with either outcome since I'm 50% a user and 50% an investor.

Market seem a bit friendly to alts today after such a long time of silence, I can see eth is doing great as well, it shows eth still got  Cool for those who were making conclusion that eth is dead and other negative comment, once market has fully revive it will only take few days for eth to get back on track.

The Ethereum price must break the $250 price resistance in order to confirm a true bear trend reversal. Just like with Bitcoin, many still think this is still a downtrend with just another correction to a key price level.

I think currently it's just a "mini" altcoin season, and ETH have many resistance levels ahead to break, if it want to enter a new uptrend. We need to wait for the next move of BTC, which will determine the trend for this market as well as ETH.

One of the few coins that is still mineable at home by a hobbyist and provides decent profits.  Its going to suck when they go full POS and there is nothing left for the little guys.

It depends on how they'll implement it, if it'll reward even 1 ETH holders then everyone will be able to join if they want.
Unfortunately I think they plan to allow PoS only to the few top wallets.... in any case even now most ETH are going to the ones already rich enough to invest in expensive mining equipment.

But don't worry... judging by their past update speed, the PoS should be activated at about 2050!

I don’t know what everyone is wearing in this ETH, there are already many other blockchains where you can create your tokens, where the transaction speed is higher. Well, if the POS is introduced only for the elite (whales), just definitely do not need ETH.
there are many other things that eth make special. one of them is eth blockchain is very easy to use relaible also. everything is not only depends on the speed. look at bitcoin its very slow to make a transaction and you can not make any token on that blockchain but its demand is great
Yeah many things are getting ready to be show off like bitpay will soon support ethereum payments and ethereum 2.0 is on the way.
Yeah I really like the ethereum blockchain and indeed very reliable, well bitcoin dominance is going down 67.4% and investors buying ethereum.

Things aren't looking bad for alts and eth isn't left of the show either,  eth is already up in price just like other alts, at least this shows that there is hope with alts, I know this will only last for a few days before normal down trend will over take the market, I don't think the market has fully revive yet.

No need to call the small price increase as an alt season, the alt season has not started yet, there is a long way to reach the average price of the previous all-time high market values.  Ethereum will relinquish the downtrend and the altcoins will start to take a deep breath in the next year. Beginning of the end will be known in a year following the PoS.

I don't agree with the arguments regarding the HYPE and it is too early to celebrate the alt season. The price is under $500 and there is a big room for the Ethereum to reach higher prices above $350.  Everything is visible in the charts and the prices will hit the old ATH again. Next year will be very interesting for the crypto traders from my understanding.

ETH 2.0 is what I am most excited about right now. ETH 2.0 + some mainstream company adapting ETH chain could help push ETH price above $350. Hopefully, they will soon make an announcement about that.

Although adoption is growing rapidly but who is this mainstream company which is about to go make this big announcement to give big boost the price. At the moment situation is totally different as compare with year 2017 than there was a big craze about new ICOs and now they want real use case to keep growing.

Is 2.0 ready enough to announce right now to all eth fans and users around the world? I heard they will introduce pos and sharding technology to boost eth speed performance, many new blockchain projects right now are also introducing this sharding as a solution for transaction issues which is really effective according to some testnets, if they will announce it this year Im sure you are correct price will increase rapidly.

Even higher gas prices, that's what we should expect!

"You want to trade an item in NFT form? Great! Pay $0.50 to get it from point A to point B!'"
"Oh what was that? You want to breed those pets? That'll be $0.50 fee for the developers and $2.00 for the gas of the computation power"

Amazing things are ahead of us! Roll Eyes

POS (what an unfortunate acronym) will be great when it gets going, for the health of the network I think, but I don't really get why people think it will be all that great to stake your coins. The interest rate isn't that much and the penalties if your machine gets hacked and tries to double spend are pretty severe. At least that's my neophyte understanding of it. I guess the rate is better than cash at your local saving's account but even a bog standard 401k will outperform it. POS seems like a technical necessity for growth and stability but it's not going to be a giant windfall to large hodlers IMO.

Good and if this correction reached at least half of the value that reached the beginning of 2018

Nothing is scheduled for this year. The first stage of upgrading of Ethereum's network will take place on January of next year.
