Liverpool walked down the road without any obstacles. Salah will be the owner of the golden boot this season.

I think he may do one better and break Haaland's record of 36 goals in a season. If he can also break the assist record in a season (which is more plausible), that will be a magical season.
Do you think Liverpool gives him less game time if they win the league early while still in the UCL and he is chasing these records?

Wow. Mighty Nott Forest just took down another big boy. Liverpool, City, Spurs, United, all scalps added to their collection. Shame I didn't have the guts to back them in the pool. But Superbru just doesn't give you that much incentive when i comes to these kinds of upsets. Bookie odds weren't even 4/1 for the home team. Haaland, Marmoush, outclassed.

I have to admit that Nottingham Forest is my favorite underdog team in Premier League this season, and I am really curious to see how far they can go.
Champions League spot would be huge success for them, but I thin they have their chances against Brighton in FA Cup.
Shame I didnt have the guts to back them in any way against Man City, even with some asian handicap.

Nottingham forest would have been out of top 4 for the first time this year and possibly sticking their in the Europa league spot if City had won, we're going to win Leicester City tomorrow to move back to the Top4. A good week for us either way.

I haven't looked at the odd of Nottingham forest finishing in top 4, I think it's worth putting few cent on.

The most fascinating thing for me is that they kept 2 clean sheets there. Their defence didn't look at all like the one from the start of the season recently but they were really compact in these 2 games again.
They will need it if they want to keep challenging for the CL.

Can't believe I'm saying this, but at this point in the season they still look like the better team than City or Chelsea.
I hope they hold out, next game vs Ipswich will be huge for them.

This was 45 years ago distant history and it was not Champions League format like today but European Cup,
I think Arsenal won UEFA Cup one season, that is now renamed to Europa League.
Today Arsenal cant even win a match against poor Man United, and they are playing a lot of draws this season, that could turn to be problem for them in the end of the season.

Always hard to tell a team you're about to face from their last game, when their opponents are nothing like your team. Newcastle seemed to struggle at times against West Ham, but visiting Hammers would probably be just as difficult for Liverpool in the league. Still, it's half time. One would hope they get more frustrated to off their spirits before the weekend.

Wow, that's unexpected for me. I already can't forgot when I got Yellow Cap, especially in EPL. In EPL probably it was in 2022/23 season .

I didn't want Newcastle to win this game just so we (Chelsea) won't be having too many team at our back for the champions league spot although I predicted 2:1 as I didn't think WestHam can be able to stop Newcastle. Don't use this Newcastle performance to judge how they're going to play on Sunday against Liverpool because they'll be playing against a stronger team and will definitely put in more efforts than what they gave in this game.

I was having the exact same thoughts here. I think Liverpool will be hurting so bad they will play this cup final to score as many as possible and be as ruthless as possible.

Its kinda sad in a way, when the season first started nobody counted Liverpool for anything, in fact, Champions League qualification was the stated target for most pundits. Then they become one of the best sides in Europe and suddenly they need to win 2 trophies to call it a season lol

In this case, it puts extra pressure on Liverpool, few weeks ago they were chasing a quadruple, they have now been knocked out of 2 comps and have a final to play, if they lose that they are left with just the league which they are almost already guaranteed to win, but from the fans perspective it may still be a little disappointing especially exiting in he Ro16, even though winning the league alone is a great feat. This puts extra pressure to win the EFL cup and can play into Newcastle's hands.

I believe the deserving team over the 2 legs went through. PSG look like serious contenders this season.

Liverpool are the worst team to face in a league cup final; they'll play shit as usual and get all the decisions in their favour.  They were good early in the season; I can't say the same now, but I don't see Newcastle United winning it.

Newcastle deserves it more - beating Chelsea and Arsenal to the final is not something anyone expected.

And as for the league, the worse they can do is slim the gap to something like 7-8 points before season ends.

This season is the first with a new coach Arne Slot so it's natural that CL expectations are not realized, but at least the EFL and PL must be achieved.
I didn't even think Arne Slot could take Liverpool in the Premier League further.
