Proof-of-stake block generation could reduce the risk of 51% attacks for at least two reasons. First, the cost of acquiring 51% of all stake could in theory be much higher than the cost of acquiring 51% of all mining power, thus raising the cost of attack. The problem is that it's become somewhat of a benchmark, so even if people don't use cryptsy... if they see a coin there then they will see it as more legitimate.  It will make the coin go up in value on other exchanges if it hits cryptsy.

The problem when coins hit cryptsy is often that people know about it in advance. And the coin therfor gets pumped before cryptsy, and when it is launched on cryptsy then people dumps it.
But if a "unknown" coin goes on cryptsy without any pump beforehand, then I can only guess it would be positive.
