Hey guys, sorry for the delay but I've finally gotten around to doing the giveaway. I went ahead and did 3 weeks worth since I've been running behind on everything. Congrats to users dzaky1982, adam, and bioplague05! Each winner received 628.33 888!
In other news, I still haven't been able to pay my hosting provider, right now I'm about $70 behind and just don't have much assets to cash in. I've spent a great deal of time in the last few weeks on a Freelancer programming project, but haven't gotten my milestone payment yet, and starting to have doubts as to the intentions of who I'm working for. There's a few other coins I have been working on but as of yet I've been unable to sell or trade anything to get everything fixed up! Seems like everything has been blowing up in my face lately, and definitely is costing me more than I get back, but hoping in the long run that it pays off. I really don't want to sell what 888 I do have saved up, but it looks like I'm going to have to do that tonight, though it's only about 4800, not enough to pay the bills! Everything would have been fine if I hadn't got an unexpected charge on my account that ate up last month's savings. Any donations or loans would be gladly accepted and very much appreciated (and the favor will be returned eventually)! Also, very soon, hopefully within a couple of days, I'll finally have a game up and running where you can place bets and win 888 (not dice, it's a surprise), just have to squash a couple of bugs.
0.2 BTC sent - no need to repay. Keep up the good work, edric. WOW! gotta love the Octo devs for this nonetheless, i committed $8. .0214 btc sent. there's your cherry on top the way btc is dropping today, you better cash it now before that doesn't = $8 hehehehehee Oh man, THANKS guys! Seriously, I love being part of a community of people who'll help each other out in a time of need! I really hate asking for donations and it's really hard to just come out and admit that I'm in financial trouble, because I really am trying to provide a dependable and trustworthy service and maintain as professional an appearance as possible, but you can imagine how stressful it is knowing you may get shut down soon! Anyways, I've got quite a few things in the works, there's several projects that I'm working to revive and make to work with OctoCoin, some are old, broken and unsupported, but the one I'm working on getting running in the next couple of days is a game written in node.js, I'm just trying to figure out the dependencies on it and it'll be going. I've never touched node.js before, ever, so I'm getting a crash course (literally). Once it's done, though, you'll be able to gamble your hard-earned Octos! I'd be more than willing to set up some kind of brainwallet or faucet, though I see that coinok already has one. Ya'll just let me know if there's anything you want/need and I'll do my best to help out. I have a lot of time on my hands right now and I'm hoping to build up more services around Octo. Again, I very much appreciate the donations! It's going straight into the server fees and will keep things going for at least another month!

It's not really all that exciting, but it is different from all the "satoshidice" games out there. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the script that runs ggdice.com, though, very nice.

Ok, I am about ready to explode right now. I logged into my panel at DigitalOcean, and there was a notice asking me to verify my identity, so I did. I put in all my information, and how was I rewarded? They shut off all my servers and opened up a support ticket telling me I need to send a scan of my ID. Ok, sure, not a problem, you could have asked me to do that BEFORE shutting them off. I just responded to their requests so I'm hoping they'll get them back on quickly. I'm a bit astonished that they'd actually do it that way, instead of just emailing me and asking politely.
Will report back in a bit.

Scrypt only? no innovative
There is nothing wrong with Scrypt. You don't have to have technical changes to be innovative. Unless you are arguing against ASICS, there is no argument against Scrypt or Litecoin wouldn't be viable. Octo is innovative in the applications and uses they are planning for the coin. Octo is also a great coin to invest in, as with the 888 block reward and, now, the 88/888 1/8 block bonus. It will reward early adopters with a large sum of coins that are mined, yet also still has a cap and a regular block reward halving for the rest of the life of the coin.

to fusionhash, I have tried in several ways to get an answer from you guys, my murray coin account does not work please help me out 2 weeks still no reaction.
I can mine, but withdrawing coins doesn't work. The biggest issue I have is that I initially tried to withdraw to an address that now is unusuable (lost passphrase). So I want to make sure that any open withdrawals are canceled so that I can withdraw to a new address and not loose my coins,
Could you please stop any open transactions / withdrawals and make sure I can withdraw again from my account. You have not been reacting to posts/ emails/ contactforms so I try it through the octo forum now.
please help and give me an emailaddress where I can send details to.

I see it makes sense to some people dumping their coins before the real party starts and the devs show up with their plans Yea, seems kinda silly, but I understand everyone's situation is different. Some may need the quick money now. If the devs end up being even 1/8th as competent as they come across in their postings, then we are in for a great time!

i'll see if i can find the post but it was when he was talking about the possible crowd funding application for oct, re-doing the website so that it informed users of how crypto worked and showing timeline goals for apps for octo... it was an earlier dev post. the easiest way to find it is to pull up his username and go back to those first posts from him....but he stated that the website updates and timeline goals for apps would be around the middle of April if i remember correctly. now after the issue with all the pools closing down and he showed up for that after fusion hash contacted him he promised an update for the next day and then renigged and gave a promise for a later udpate.

the dev just posted "soon" the other day. he also popped in last night and donated .2 btc to Edric, who is active on this board and runs a 888 pool.... yes, we are all still waiting, it's coming soon.

Yes okay, if someone really needs the money quick... But as you say, if the devs keep their promises... this coin could be a real gamechanger. Because Octo is a coin with businessplans. And this is the future of cryptocurrency i believe. +8 Completely agree. I think the problem with most crypto's is that they don't seem to have a business plan or any sort of real direction. They don't seem to be easily used by the average Joe, and they are intimidating to most people. I'm thinking Octo will change the crypto scene.

I'm going to go out on a limb and speculate that they have some sort of trouble with their email configuration with their pool.. I've had trouble with mine as well, but I've tested pretty rigorously lately, it -should- be working properly. The problem is (this is a feature of MPOS, not a glitch) is that if your account is "locked" from trying to incorrectly sign in too many times, no amount of password reset emails will unlock, admin has to unlock it first before you can reset it.

Yes, I've been working on getting a betting game working for 888. I'm in touch with the original dev for the game I'm working on, he's gonna help me get it running. Some kind of node.js dependency issue, and admittedly, I'm out of my depth there. I appreciate your donations! It makes every hour spent at my computer worth it!
