I'm pleased to report that the pool at http://octocoinpool.tk is mining blocks. Please come and mine with us! For the first 8 days our fee is 0.5%, PPLNS, and we will be doing a weekly giveaway of 25% of our earnings. Please read the notice on the site, and use our stratum servers at octostratum1.tk (US) and octostratum2.tk (Singapore).

http://octocoinpool.tk found 1 block? I personally saw in cgminer on one of my rigs three times- Found block for pool 1. Wtf?

ech, my cgminer often says "found block for pool 0" when i haven't actually found a block, not sure why it happens, it just started one day a few months back and has been doing it ever since. i wish it was true!

Appreciate the feedback MCCPool.

Have you turned off block updates being posted on the front end because of load? Have you turned off anything else that might usually be displayed on the front-end (website pages)? If yes then posted messages on the dashboard would be useful to alley the fears of those who do not understand tuning a pool's performance while under heavy load / stressed.

I ask because the website only shows 1 block (993) being processed by your pool that has around 167 workers doing 205.594 Mh/s

http://oct.minecryptocoins.org/ SCAMMERS??

Mining there for 1 hour with 2.5MH/s got only 7.4 uncomfirmed coins ??

No, there is no scam involved. There have been technical issues with the launch.
It appears most(all?) pools also had the same/similar issues.

This has been very stressful for me Sad
Please understand that I did all in my power to troubleshoot the issue,
but in the end I don't think it was a problem isolated to my pool.

I'm pleased to report that the pool at http://[Suspicious link removed] is mining blocks. Please come and mine with us! Please read the notice on the site, and use our stratum servers at [Suspicious link removed] (US) and [Suspicious link removed] (Singapore).

First time I've ever seen a pool use whole new subdomains for coins/endpoint rather than a subdomain like useast.[Suspicious link removed].  Any particular reason for that?

Also why didn't we find any blocks in the first 500 or so?

*EDIT 2014 and we can't link to .tk domains?!  Really?!  Huh

I don't really know what the issue was there for a bit, but resetting the stratum servers and re-syncing our wallet got things on the right track.

If anyone sets up a block explorer and I miss it, please do me a favor and send me a PM.

http://octocoinpool.tk Come and mine with us for your chance at winning 25% of our week's earnings!

Refer to the octocoin.org website, and past posts in this thread by OctoCoin ...

--------------------
During the first 6 months, ~31 million OctoCoins will be minted
  • 0.8% pre-mine (block 1) for promotions, marketing, rewards, donations, and dev team compensation; public ledger will be available
  • 888 OctoCoins per block during the first 8 days
  • Following 88 days, 88 OctoCoins per block with a 1/8 chance of hitting a bonus block containing 888 OctoCoins (~123 bonus blocks/day)
  • 88 OctoCoins per block during the next 88 days
--------------------

PLEASE NOTE :- There appears to be an issue with the source, as other pools have also had issues. Please mine at own risk (I have considered closing pool).

so has the problem with all the pools been fixed yet?  i have my hashing power split between 2 pools and have nothing.

pool operators are already talking about closing their pools

sounds like its coming close to a sad fail for this coin.

would the Developers like to make a statement?

i triple dog dare you to make your next post in this thread without using the word "scam". try it. i bet you can't.

cryptohunter, you are officially now labled "THE WORST" in this thread, and i'll remember to take all your future posts in other threads with a massive grain of salt, more akin to a horse's saltlick.

but then again, you are scaring away honest miners, which means that i'm now mining a larger piece of the pie, so part of me wants to thank you and congratulate you.

oh what a devious plan that would be, so enter a thread screaming that the sky is falling, only to get bigger mining profits for yourself.

because i HIGHLY doubt that anyone spending so much time in a thread like this, (who is showing a level of caring about this coin which is higher than anyone else i've seen post here...)WOULDN'T be mining the coin. i mean they'd have to be a sociopath otherwise...
