The distances are getting bigger with teams below day by day.

Currently;

Arsenal are ahead of Aston Villa & Manchester City by 7 points.

That duo is also 7 points ahead of Liverpool.

There are still 16 more match weeks to go of course. But this kind of gaps are at least giving us some ideas about how the season could end. As long as there is no consistency I don't think any team out of top 4 now will be able to enter there anymore.

But for the champion of the season it is early to make sure. Because you know Arsenal... They are always likely to surprise us by handing the lead to Manchester City.

Lot of drama is expected before the season concludes. Quite alright, Arsenal is a known bottler for like three consecutive seasons now but I don't expect them to bottle it again this time. They're leading the table with Seven points with sixteen games to round up the season, they're to lose like three games and either Manchester city or Aston villa have to win that three games to catch up with Arsenal. It sounds easy thou but despite the weakness of Arsenal recently, I don't expect them to just let seven points slide away like that. As for Liverpool and other teams below them, they're not tittle contenders but want to survive in the top four to play in the champions league next season.

While he is right that they are not consistent enough, it's way too humble to say that they are not top five team in the league right now. They are literally third place right now and yes maybe Liverpool will pass them eventually but doubt anyone could. At the moment as third place they are 7 points ahead of fourth place, that means the fifth place United would need to get 8 more points than Villa to be in the same place, along with Liverpool and that would still make Villa fifth, not sixth.

If Nothingham forest could stay in the premier league second and first position for sometime and yet don't qualify for champions league then what else can not be possible considering nothingham forest form that season it was really a shame.

Arsenal dropping points against Forest was definitely the shocking result of the weekend, where they could have gone 9 points ahead of second place. The league title is really theirs to lose.

I am very disappointed with this result because my bet lost and I really did not expect how Aston Villa could lose at their own home, especially since they were highly motivated to close the point gap and compete for the title.
Last week was really strange, the top 3 teams failed to get full points, it was truly a big surprise in my opinion.

Really disappointed Aston Villa can't take advantage after Manchester City losing three points and Arsenal just getting one points this week, losing 0-1 from Everton at home match is very disappointed result and has bigger chance for Aston Villa moving to 2nd place but failure after defeating by Everton.
Next games, Aston Villa will away against Newcastle United and must get three points if won't loss chance with the top 2nd position and pressure Arsenal still not get any pressure yet between from Manchester City and Aston Villa due both teams not get three points in this week. Is season for Arsenal winning premier league tittle? indeed not consistent but the competitor teams playing poorly.

Aston Villa football team was not bad in this match because their shots were more in this match and these were 18 and 5 shots were on target and possession percentage of that team was great in this match which was 63 percent in this match and passes of that team were more in this match which were 432 . The pass accuracy of that team was great in this match and that was 90 percent in this match and yellow card was one in this match . The shots of Everton football team were less in this match which were 9 and  4 shots were on target and possession percentage of that team was less in this match. The passes of Everton football team were less in this match which were 265 .

It’s actually unbelievable. Arsenal has the biggest chance in years to win the league but they keep dropping points in the most ridiculous games. genius Arteta benched Saka just because he’s thinking about the Manchester United game. Unbelievable. I really wish City or Aston Villa had a bit more luck.

In football, statistics aren't everything. We all know that by now. Aston Villa were the better team in the match, but they couldn't win. Everton managed to get three points from this game. Their next match will be against my team, Fenerbahçe, in the Europa League. Aston Villa are a very high-quality team, and I'm sure they won't have any problems in the Europa League. They might have a few bad results in the Premier League, but their style of play is always commendable. Even when they lose, their performance isn't declining. I hope a miracle happens and we can beat Aston Villa, but to be honest, they are one of the best teams in the Premier League this year, so I don't think we'll stand much of a chance against them.

Tottenham are working like a healer in this league recently.    They lost to Bournemouth and West Ham both you know. These teams weren't able to win a single match in the league for a long time until facing Tottenham...

The problem is that Tottenham can't heal their own wounds. It is 4 matches now that they couldn't get a win. They are once again at a point which is not much different than last season. Thomas Frank is staying or not?

It’s been a crazy week. Arsenal drew and City lost, so Villa had a great chance to join the title race but then they lost to Everton at home. Such a shame.

Even if Aston villa were able to win their last match, I won’t still count them amount the title contenders, and they couldn’t even win Everton in their last match. Aston villa might be able to qualify for the champions league next season, but winning the premier league this season is just something we going to find so difficult.

If Arsenal beats Manchester United next week, i think they’ll be champions. But Manchester United finally looks like the old United with Carrick after many years. We’ll see.

Manchester United won their last match against Manchester city which came as a suprise because most people never expected that, their performance was good in the match, but let’s wait and see if Manchester United will be able to continue with the kind of performance they displayed in their last match.

Yeah, it was really hard for Aston Villa to win the league this season. But i really wish they could. it is amazing that they are even competing with teams like Manchester City and Arsenal and their huge budgets. Especially with Emery they are doing a great job in the Premier League this year. Even if it doesn’t happen this season if they can make one or two transfers next year, they can do amazing things in both the Champions League and the Premier League.

Aston villa are title contender but it's impossible for them to win the league this season not even next season but they will definitely make it to the top four, it very interesting that they are competing with clubs like Arsenal and Man city for the league if not that they lost to Everton last week their point wouldn't be much, if they won at the villa park Arsenal would only gap them with 3 point and this would have been challenging to both Man city and Arsenal for the title this season.

There is an Arsenal - Manchester United game closing in. What do you think? I assume Arsenal would finally win right? They did it at Old Trafford already. Doing it for the second time at Emirates shouldn't be harder technically.

I can understand Aston Villa's dropping points in unexpected times. They aren't familiar with being a title contender in the first place. Most people must have still not waited for them to stay in it until the end.

However the thing which I don't know what to say about is Arsenal's look. You have your best chance in all these years but continue to lose points at the same time with your number one rival. The gap is 7 points but still I'm not convinced with them...

Give Arsenal some break, they are not the only club that has rise and fall. There are some clubs in the Premier league that has not touch Premier League title for a very long time and they are not even close to what Arsenal has achieved today. Not saying Arsenal is going to lose the match but if they lose the title to Manchester City, they have paid their dues and has gotten a test of what some teams has not achieved in a very long time, Manchester United can related very well.

I still believe Arsenal can win this league, if there is any team that can stop Arsenal now from winning the league is Arsenal, they have played some matches that I don't like their moves. They shouldn't be drawing matches now that other teams are losing, it's an opportunity to build on what is remaining so that if unexpected happened in the future, they can still used the point they have secured now as collateral to beat any team that try to come up on the table.

it was really hard for Aston Villa to win the league this season. But i really wish they could. it is amazing that they are even competing with teams like Manchester City and Arsenal and their huge budgets. Especially with Emery they are doing a great job in the Premier League this year. Even if it doesn’t happen this season if they can make one or two transfers next year, they can do amazing things in both the Champions League and the Premier League.

Nobody really even assumed they would, even up until this loss, they were nowhere near Arsenal and we all knew that they wouldn't touch them. So winning the title was already out of the question and to be fair they still have a far enough level to Liverpool, so it's clear that Villa does have that third place locked in right now, even after the win they are still much ahead of Liverpool.

They would require to have many bad games like this to drop to fourth place, I am guessing they are going to end up with a good result and get the third place. While that may not be what the momentum looked for a moment, that is way more than what they desired at the start of the season, a third place for Villa is a huge win for them.

2 draws in a row for Arsenal while Manchester City are also losing points... The draw with Liverpool is normally okay but I was just not satisfied with their game. That Forest game should have definitely ended in a win for them!

Having a 7-point difference is still quite valuable though. Arteta can still keep things under control easily while Guardiola can't find the exit. But Arteta still had better beat Carrick in his next PL matchup to end the bad series...

Tottenham started the season well. But now they are in very bad form. They have been  performing badly consistently. The team  has fallen far behind in the  points table. The team is now in 14 th place in the Tenbill. They have won only 7  out of  22 matches. Tottenham have lost their last two matches. A weak defense is one of the reasons for tottenham's defeat.
I would not be surprised if Thomas frank is sacked. tottenham have played  32 matches since Frank became manager. Of these , they have won only 11  matches.

Aston Villa had a good opportunity in hand to capture the 2nd position and get 4 points behind Arsenal at the same time. But they wasted it very generously. 

I don't know how they didn't manage to score in a game which they played better than their opponent. Everton somehow secured a 1-0 win away...

I don't really know why many of these clubs we thought they are going to perform well and have more point with an easy wins are falling by the side. Aston Villa is a great club we all thought could over take Manchester City and Arsenal looking at the way they were playing but it was unfortunate to see that both Aston Villa, Manchester City and Arsenal is falling aside.

It is surprising how the top 3 teams in the premier league dropped points in the week even when their opponents were not strong opponents. After Manchester United won Manchester City in the Manchester derby at old trafford, i was expecting Arsenal and Aston Villa to win their matches for Arsenal to extend their lead over Manchester City and for Aston Villa to over take Manchester City in 2nd place at the premier league standings, but Arsenal drew their match with Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa lost to Everton. Since Arsenal could not beat Nottingham Forest, they should not concede defeat against Manchester United if they do not want to be at risk of not winning the title.

You are right, infact, I think that match between Arsenal and Manchester united will tell of a truth if things have changed for Manchester united or they are still basically the same and they only managed to beat Manchester city in their last game simply because Manchester city isn't in a good form right now..

If Manchester united manage to beat Arsenal in that coming game (which I am honestly hoping doesn't happen), it will be another shocker after their last win against Manchester city, but Arsenal must not joke with the game though, it's one they need to win no matter what, two draws in a row is already looking very bad on them to be honest, and the fact that they need to maintain their first position in the league table is a major reason for them to ensure they don't lose to Manchester united.

The seven point of Arsenal ahead of other teams is not enough to secure the league this season,  if they are unable to win two games judg like they draw their last game, other teams can be ahead of them. Arsenal needs to be consistent if they want to win the league.  In their last game I expected them to win to increase their points. Arsenal needs to be serious with their game because it will be so bad for them to lose with these quality players they have.

I totally agree. Actually, finishing the league in top 4 with this budget is a big success for Aston Villa. Unai Emery is a very good coach. He knows how to play the team very well. If he continues like this, i believe he will win trophies with Aston Villa in the future.
