There are still 16 more match weeks to go of course. But this kind of gaps are at least giving us some ideas about how the season could end. As long as there is no consistency I don't think any team out of top 4 now will be able to enter there anymore.

But for the champion of the season it is early to make sure. Because you know Arsenal... They are always likely to surprise us by handing the lead to Manchester City.  Tongue
The seven point of Arsenal ahead of other teams is not enough to secure the league this season,  if they are unable to win two games judg like they draw their last game, other teams can be ahead of them. Arsenal needs to be consistent if they want to win the league.  In their last game I expected them to win to increase their points. Arsenal needs to be serious with their game because it will be so bad for them to lose with these quality players they have.
As it stands right now, judging from Manchester City's performance this night in the champion's league, losing 3-0 to Bodo, I think Arsenal just have to capitalise or else, once City find their form late in the season like they always do, it's a goner for them.

The same is true for the teams that can threaten Arsenal. I think the top 4 teams will all come back to form together and keep picking up points. Manchester City, who are in second place, are really broken. After losing to Manchester United, they are going to face a very embarrassing defeat to Bodo in the Champions League today. City are 3-1 down in the 70th minute of the match. Maybe it will not be easy for City to break this gap and win in the remaining 20-30 minutes. I am waiting for another defeat for City.

Now many will question if Manchester United were actually remarkable or City were just so terrible. Pep reign seems to be coming to an end or not. Three goals to one now, but we know a comeback is very much unlikely especially now that they are currently down to ten men, since Rodri got a red card.

I don't think Manchester United should be praised so early because they played against a weak team, you'll be wondering why I said a weak team maybe you'll be thinking that i don't know the team you are talking about, i consider Manchester City as a weak team now because of what they are playing currently against Bodo/Glimt In their 7th round of Champions League game. Before 30 minutes of first half Manchester City had conceded two goals, this was a total embarrassment.

With regard to Manchester United I think we should watch their next three matches, then we can decide whether they are back on the good track, but right now we shouldn't judge their performance now because Manchester City has declined. Let's see how their performance will be when there will be facing arsenal at Emirates Stadium.

Manchester city have been terrible in recent game especially when they play away from home, who would have believed Bodo Glimt will be cruising pass their defense this night, well they are just very lucky it just 3 goals they have conceded yet, it could have been more. That central defense have been a huge problem for them since that Chelsea game, well it a good thing to see them get Marc Guehi because these are desperate times for them.

Well I saw a lot of pundits predicting Manchester city to win this game, well it not asif it a bad prediction but they just need to know that it not the same team like a few months back. Now I don’t even think they ate capable to challenge arsenal for the premier league l.

I still don't understand why everyone is making reference to previous seasons where Arsenal messed up their chances of winning the title after such a tedious race, the scenario of this season is quite different from what we saw in those seasons where Arsenal ruin their chances with some bad result. This time around the potential contenders are also underperforming and this gives Arsenal more advantage to widen the gap. It's very much possible that Arsenal will win the title considering the poor results coming from teams like Manchester city and Liverpool  whom in my opinion are the frontline contenders for the title.

Yes I agree with you, but knowing that Arsenal also can't be trusted when it matters the most and that Manchester City can get it right at any moment in time is what baffles me.

Yes, I also think Manchester City's chances against Arsenal this year are lower than in previous years. Because Manchester City are performing poorly this year. In the match that just ended, Bodo/Glimt beat them 3-1. Guardiola and his players need to learn a lot from this defeat. If they continue like this, they will lose many points in the Premier League and hand the championship to Arsenal. Arsenal have dropped some points, but they are not as bad as in previous years. They are a little more consistent and can still win the championship.

It’s been a crazy week. Arsenal drew and City lost, so Villa had a great chance to join the title race but then they lost to Everton at home. Such a shame.
Even if Aston villa were able to win their last match, I won’t still count them amount the title contenders, and they couldn’t even win Everton in their last match. Aston villa might be able to qualify for the champions league next season, but winning the premier league this season is just something we going to find so difficult.

If Arsenal beats Manchester United next week, i think they’ll be champions. But Manchester United finally looks like the old United with Carrick after many years. We’ll see.
Manchester United won their last match against Manchester city which came as a suprise because most people never expected that, their performance was good in the match, but let’s wait and see if Manchester United will be able to continue with the kind of performance they displayed in their last match.

Yeah, it was really hard for Aston Villa to win the league this season. But i really wish they could. it is amazing that they are even competing with teams like Manchester City and Arsenal and their huge budgets. Especially with Emery they are doing a great job in the Premier League this year. Even if it doesn’t happen this season if they can make one or two transfers next year, they can do amazing things in both the Champions League and the Premier League.
Aston villa are title contender but it's impossible for them to win the league this season not even next season but they will definitely make it to the top four, it very interesting that they are competing with clubs like Arsenal and Man city for the league if not that they lost to Everton last week their point wouldn't be much, if they won at the villa park Arsenal would only gap them with 3 point and this would have been challenging to both Man city and Arsenal for the title this season.
It is surprising how Aston Villa improved their performance and competed with Arsenal and Manchester City for the premier league title this season. I do not think Aston Villa are premier league title contenders; they can finish in a champions league place if they continue performing the way they are currently performing at the moment. I was also thinking Aston Villa would beat Everton to over take Manchester City and cut down the points gap with Arsenal, but as Aston Villa could not do that, it will be difficult for them to lift the premier league title.

Now many will question if Manchester United were actually remarkable or City were just so terrible. Pep reign seems to be coming to an end or not. Three goals to one now, but we know a comeback is very much unlikely especially now that they are currently down to ten men, since Rodri got a red card.

Manchester City disruptive performance is the main reason Arsenal are still the league title favorite because while they draw we do see City losing and now in the Champions league our big boy City lost to an unknown team while a team like Tottenham struggling with many player unavailable are currently leading Dortmund two goals to nil.

Can Marc Guehi changes the team from their current state is something I doubt, they don't only need a new Cb but rather get themselves together and dominate since they have the quality for this to happen.

I just checked and I noticed I lost because of Manchester City, I lost one bet because of their negligence with Manchester United even though it's a worth match for United, they fumbled. I don't know what to call this there last two matches but they are very bad. Haaland seems like he is not very present in this match with all he has been doing, he has dropped stats from the last two matches, I enjoyed Clerki today in this match more than I enjoyed Haaland and Foden.

There is level to this management but I wouldn't blame Guardiola for this performance, look at the number of players that were absent today from match, it's alarming and I don't know what the club is doing to address that number, but then I'm skeptical why Doku was present in today's match with Bodo Glimt, he doesn't have injury but no full time play, the last time he played with Manchester United was only for 10 minutes when the match was ending, I think the coach is confused.

I don't know if it was some derby magic making Man United perform unusually well, or if it was just Man City being sluggish, but it was a huge win for United and a dream debut for Michael Carrick as interim manager.
I wouldn't be surprised if the owner of Man United decided not to rush in searching for a new manager and gave Carrick more time to see if he can earn a permanent position.

That loss didn't have that much impact on Man City's position. All of their main competitors also lost some points. But their performance didn't spark much optimism about their ability to win the league this season. They haven't managed to make a single shot on target.
The rumours are starting to emerge about Haaland's potential move to Real Madrid. Haaland hasn't been very effective lately, with only 1 goal scored in 7 games. He has the most minutes played this season, so he probably could use some rest.

Now many will question if Manchester United were actually remarkable or City were just so terrible. Pep reign seems to be coming to an end or not.
Let’s wait and see how Manchester United will be performing in their subsequent matches, they played well against Manchester city, but I won’t say they are getting back to form yet. I know Manchester city are currently performing poorly, we saw the terrible performance which they displayed against Bodo today. Manchester city is currently down, I just hope they going to bounce back soon.

I will say it’s high time pep resign, he has really tried, he is a great coach that people won’t forget, but it’s high time he leaves now, he shouldn’t destroy they record and reputation which he set.

I'm feeling T.Frank is just getting closer from being sacked by Spurs. 5 games without win in the new year. It's absolutely terrible result, and i believe it's not what board wanted from him. I know the latest news said he's still leading the game against BVB in UCL, but it may be his last game if his team keeps losing.
This is how Spurs does spurs thing. Sacking manager, sign a new one, then sack again after months. At this point the win against BVB is the only thing that can save his job.

Apart from that i've heard Spurs fans are moaning T.Frank out! The pressure for him is just getting bigger, and almost coming to its end.  Grin
Honestly I feel for him, it just doesn’t want to work out for him at Tottenham, well I think they have enough quality in the squad to at least get an European football for next season but instead they are still trying to find their feet. Another big problem they have this season is struggling to win games at home ground, and for sure when you struggle to win games at home in the premier league then definitely you are going to have a very terrible season.

To some extent I feel maybe the numbers of injury have had a huge impact on their foam this season, seeing the likes of Maddison, Kulusevski and now bentacur and kudus too. Well maybe another manager can do well with the squad, and I think with such poor results piling up it will be the best for the club to let him go.
I felt yesterday that this is a condition that looks like an ultimatum to me and having played the match against Borussia dortmund and won, what next, his going to keep his job for the mean time and when he starts having bad results he will get another statement that will look like another ultimatum. When he doesn't meet it, then he will get sacked. Clubs are no longer patient with coaches these days even those clubs that are aware they will not win the league even if you give them twenty years they will still not win it.

Manchester United are well known about their inconsistency in terms of performance so we shouldn't be in a haste to conclude that they are better now. It's just one game so until they maintain consistency nothing can be said. I anticipate their next game to see how they will perform, if they don't replicate same performance then I will assume they merely got lucky

The same Manchester City lost badly to FK Bodø/Glimt today and also had a man sent off. So, let's just say Manchester City is not as good as we think.  Another thing is that Manchester United always seems to get so pumped up for derby matches and others against the top teams

About Haaland leaving for Real Madrid. I do hope it doesn't happen  Grin

Yup, after today's poor performance, it's evident that there's something wrong with their performance, and the loss to United last Saturday was probably not just a one-time flop.

Quick summary of EPL club's performance in the Champions League tonight:

Bodo/glimt 3-1 Manchester City
Tottenham 2-0 Borussia Dortmund
Inter 1-3 Arsenal

Tomorrow Liverpool is playing away against Marseille, Newcastle hosts PSV at home and Chelsea is facing Pafos at home.

Big victory for Arsenal. They are set to finish the league stage with 100% wins.

Yes, but it is not like the performance that should get an Arsenal fan scared of their team not winning against them this weekend. City did perform poorly but yes United still do well to make good use of their chances to get enough goals for a three points while my team, Chelsea were only able to get a point when we could have done a lot better and collected all three points sadly.

I admit that Man United performed very well when they beat Man City, but no one can guarantee how far Man United can maintain the consistency of their performance because so far that has been the team's problem, maybe we should wait for the next few matches before we can judge.

I think Aston Villa still need to prove that they truly belong among clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City, and that their success this season is due to their own efforts rather than the bad breaks their rivals they have faced so far. There is still around half a season left to play. As for Manchester City and Arsenal I assume these two will remain the main contenders for the championship title. Fingers crossed for Arsenal. Wink
I personally see them as having the potential to compete even further.

In my view Aston Villa may be considered a challenger to both Arsenal and Manchester only in theory, because we also have teams such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham that will try to do the same. The most they can realistically achieve is finishing in 5th or 6th place at the end of the season. Although this is only my personal opinion, I wish them success in their endeavor to reach the higher levels of the table.
