That strategy I don't think will work for them this time my reason of saying so is that the Europa League this season comprises of teams that I think will get the better of Manchester United when they meet the knockout stages. I strongly doubt that Manchester United will be able to win the an European trophy this season so if they fail to finish their league campaign in a position that guarantees European football next season, they're very likely not to play in Europe next season

I believe more in Roma in this match, where even though Roma has a not so good record when facing Porto, and this will be an away match for AS Roma, but currently Roma is slowly returning to its best form, in the domestic league they are able to make changes that make their position better.

Meanwhile, currently in the domestic league, Porto is gasping for breath to be able to maintain its position in 3rd position, lately Porto has experienced a series of bad results.

However, this is just an assumption, and we will never know for sure how the match will go, before the match really ends.

While I agree that Roma is doing much better compared to start of the season and they have found a good momentum thanks to Ranieri, we are also talking about Porto who is a better team right now. I understand wanting the team you like to win, but at this point no matter how much they have "improved", I still see AS Roma to be not a good team this season. I suspect Porto to have a much better season and shouldn't really be doing anything good at all, would definitely hurt their possibility without a doubt.

Hopefully we see entertaining games though, that's the most important part, if we can see how these games can be found, we could assume safely that entertainment value should be high since both teams have good capable players that can score a lot.

You are right, that's how it should be. Given their current position in the league it's unrealistic for Manchester United to qualify for a European competition through the Premier League. Their best shot at securing a Champions League spot for next season is by putting all their effort into winning the Europa League. I think Manchester United have a stronger pedigree having won the competition back in 2017 and also reaching the finals in 2022. Their experience in knockout competitions combined with a manager like Amorim who has a strong tactical approach gives them a better chance of winning the competition than Tottenham.

I don't think we should expect a major transformation from United until transfers are made and until Amorim fully prepares the team for the season. In this sense, I think Tottenham are doing better. I know it is always common to attribute blame to managers when his team are not doing or playing well, despite the fact that the manager is putting in all his efforts but since it is not reflecting on the performance of the team, the manager will be seen as someone that is not good for the job.
