I would have been very surprised if fenerbahce didn't win today's game against Anderlecht and not just that I still believe they would win even in the second leg, they were very lucky to have been paired to them. Although my match of the day would be between AZ alkmar and Galatasaray. I think both teams are evenly matched and I will love to see how they both do today against each other.

A very weak team they had there so a win was almost just too sure, I said almost because for me in gambling and football generally,  untill the final results,  I don't believe in any form of certainty.  For fernerbahce it was a game to just help them gain more opportunities than they would ordinarily in the league but then I hope to see them do better in other games, and get to the semifinals in the europa because at this stage they don't seem to have been challenged enough.

It's already a lost game for Anderlecht because they're finding it difficult to break the deadlock. Fenerbahce has qualified automatically to the round of 16, because I am not expecting any surprise from Anderlecht at home. Youssef En-Nesyri scored scored the third goal for his club on the 57th minutes to make it 3-0. After that, there were some good chances that Fenerbahce missed if not the goals would be more.

Normally you will not expect Anderlecht to win today’s game because Fenerbahce is not in the same form as them. We all know that they will have to accept the defeat and get knocked out because even in the second leg they will not be able to meet up again; they have already lost the first leg with 3 goals, so what are they expecting to see in the second leg? The same defeat because they will never be able to break the defence of Fenerbahce, talk less of even winning against them.

Talking of the game between AZ and Galatasaray, we all know that the game will end in a draw because both of the teams performances are almost the same, and having a winner between these two teams will be a bit complicated. A few minutes before the start of the game, let's see what will happen in the game.

I think you are exaggerating Fenerbahce's advantage, not all is lost for Anderlecht, they were more active in the second half of the first half, although this was not reflected in the score.
To my surprise I saw the author of the second goal, to be honest I don't follow the Turkish championship very much so I thought that Dzeko had already finished his career. In March he will be 39 

I don't think it's an exaggeration, Fenerbahçe is really playing much better. I said they would score the 3rd goal, they scored with En Nesyri in second half. All 3 of their stars up front scored. Talisca came on later, he was the only one who didn't score. Fenerbahçe's offensive power shouldn't be underestimated. Anderlecht had very little chance in this round, now they have none. Fenerbahçe is going through very comfortably.

There are ups and downs to my strategy, and today we are at the downs part. The game between FC Midtjylland and Real Sociedad was not the kind of performance I expected from the Spanish team, although all that matters in football is the 3 points but in terms of play, the Danish team were on top of the encounter. They actually possessed Real Sociedad so we'll that it was like they were playing their fellow Danish team and not a Spanish team. After the third goal, I thought more will be added during the second half but the game ended as it was in the first half.

Now, AZ Alkmaar has scored 4 goals. Meanwhile Galatasaray only scored 1 goal only and they have lost 1 player because of a red card. Galatasaray is in a bad situation, they have no chance to qualify for the next round if AZ Alkmaar scored more and more goals. Now, the gap is 3 goals, it will be a very difficult effort to surpass the gap in the second leg. They need a luck in the second leg if they want to qualify for the next round.

True, they played unexpectedly today. Also, Galatasaray wasn't lucky because Kaan Ayhan got a red card in minute 51'. Instead of equalizing the score, they conceded more goals due to the lack of players. TBH, it is quite surprised that AZ Alkmaar could score 4 goals against a strong team like Galatasaray which never got a single lose in the local league.

AZ Alkmaar has been leading 2 goals before Galatasaray player got a red card. So, we can't blame the worse performance because of the red card. Today, Galatasaray performed badly, it may be caused by the absence of Osimhen. In the second leg, Galatasaray need a luck/miracle to catch up on the aggregate goal deficit.

AS Roma - Porto had a good reputation during its glory days, but after several senior players moved and retired, the performance of both teams could not be superior. Porto, which has many European class players, is now helpless after retiring.

The game between Porto and the Roma is a very interesting game tonight, because with the way both of the teams keep their performances so strong I was not expecting that kind of performance from both of them, especially the Porto that I wan take as weak ten in the Europa League are able to the Roma by possession.

Honestly when the season started the Porto performances was very poorly, and that’s why i even surprised when I see them bring out a positive result against the Roma by playing a 1-1 , and with the way their Marius going on currently I don’t have hope for Roma that they can able to add any goal anymore; because the game is almost come to an end.

The game ended in a 4-1 thrashing of Galatasaray by AZ Alkmaar and to be honest, I least expected this scoreline because the Dutch based club aren't the type one can rely on to pull off such a brilliant performance and against Galatasaray of all clubs. Many will say it's because Osimhen wasn't available due to the number of yellow cards he has accumulated over the period of time he has been at Galatasaray that was why the club slacked this much but I feel that AZ Alkmaar were able to beat Galatasaray by that number of goals because of the red card given to Kaan Ayhan in the 51st minutes and from then on, the visitors became disoriented. Also, they grossly underestimated their hosts and got punished for it.

Roma showed a lot of character and control over the game up till the end of the game. Despite being a man down, they still fought hard to at least hold the game in a draw,  doing all their best to ensure that there weren't much goal difference and looking at the stats, Roma should have gotten more goals but it seemed in the area of defense, Porto are very good.

Fenerbahçe made a good start to the match. First Tadic and then Dzeko scored a total of two goals. Anderlecht couldn't hold them for long. This match was bound to be like this, there is a huge difference in the quality of the squad between the teams. Fenerbahçe is a very high value team. There was no doubt that they would advance from the play-off round. Now in the second half they will try to make up the difference and go to Belgium for the second leg in comfort. I think they will score the 3rd and 4th goal, Mourinho will not drop the gear.

Fenerbahce was great, I was very happy that they played such a game, I expected the same game from Galatasaray, unfortunately Galatasaray is on its way to becoming a mediocre team. Little by little, they were very strong, according to Galatasaray, not much will change in the return match.

Galatasaray will complete the deficiencies in the squad in a few years, if they continue to delay, they will continue to be disgraced in Europe. Osimhen was transferred, but they didn't think about the rest, they didn't think about it.

Fenerbahce victory was very decisive and comfortable for them in the next round indeed. I saw in this match old names like Dzeko and En-nesyri scoring goals.
For Galatasaray, we can say goodbye in the second leg even if they will play home because simply Anderlecht is way more powerful.
Roma continues to have poor results and overall, the marches of the second leg will be necessary to know which team will remain since the goals difference between these teams aren't that big.

As for me, I was not expecting much performances from Real Sociedad, as I know little about how strong Midtjylland is and how they usually perform in their domestic league. Real Sociedad is also not in great form. They are not among the top teams in Spain, which is why I was not surprised that Midtjylland dominated the pitch. Midtjylland was the team controlling the game.

However, as you mentioned, we often expect teams from popular leagues to be stronger than teams from less popular leagues, regardless of their domestic standing or challenges. The truth is, Midtjylland does not come from a popular league.

But what really matters is the three points, and that is what Real Sociedad managed to secure, even though it wasn’t a home game for them. Ball possession means nothing, as each team has its own playing style. Some teams rely on counterattacks and defensive strategies, so they rarely dominate possession.

I know Alkmaar to be a stressful team for Galatasaray but the results for this game happened to be off prediction. Galatasaray lost with a huge goal difference, it's unlike them to lose this way, i don't know if it's a reserve for their home league, the performance wasn't good enough. Since they are finding it difficult in the Europa they should try to maintain their composure in the Super Lig best to maintain the first spot until the end of the season, would love to see Osimhen win something along side the club.
