Nobody know what made Galatasaray to decline in form to the extent that they are now like vegetables, finding it difficult to get their bearing. It seems that ony a set of players are the ones making the club to progress. Currently, that those players are on injury and one or two have dropped form, Galatasaray has become a mediocre team to whomever they clash with in EL.

The red card did change a couple of things in that game, but Alkmaar had the lead before and was playing well, although I am not sure that Alkmaar would have won it without the early red card against Galatasaray.

I have also been asking myself what is wrong with Galatasaray because if you check how they started the season, you will develop high hopes and expectations from them. They made me see them beyond the Turkish Super League because they were practically playing exceptional football especially when Victor Osimhen joined them. All of a sudden, they have reduced to an average team that one will bet with fear and scoring goal now has become a big challenge to them. It is possible they were overwhelmed with the fear of losing their key players during this new year transfer market... just my thinking though.

Playing poorly for fear of losing players is actually leaking games on purpose, which if actually revealed, the team can be disqualified and sanctions imposed on them, so this option can be safely dismissed, no team and no management would consciously take such a step. I don't know for sure what the cause is, but what is clear is that Galatasaray is currently very dull on the front line and very weak in defense.
