@KingsDen forget about Old Trafford effect football outcome isn't anticipated based on old glory but on current for of both teams that will be meeting in a match. Currently Manchester United form is nothing compared to that of Real Sociedad despite that they play in a league we consider to be below EPL.  Manchester United don't have a reliable defence, neither do they have a midfield that can deliver balls to the forwards that if the forwards in Manchester United are even in good form to be considered. I still think the draw is okay considering the senior players absent and this would motivate them hopefully to do better because come to think of it many of the players doesn't show drive for winning but as the game end with a tie some will want to do better and qualify for the next stage rather than being in a state of rest if they got a one or two goals win. I agree with you totally, at Manchester United current situation, anything can still happen in their home. Any team can go there and get a win. It won't be the first time if it happens against real Sociedad when they visit Old Trafford. In recent times Manchester United have been doing more better in away matches than they have been doing at home. But no matter how things go for them during the second leg, it is better that they didn't lose yesterday. They shouldn't go and feel relaxed thinking that yes we are playing at home next leg and we are going to win. They might be suprise to see how prepared real Sociedad will come for them. They have to put in the work and play as if they are they away side if they truly want to defeat Real Sociedad and advance to the next round.

I can see why people would think United would lose but the actual result became a tie, and considering this was played at Sociedad, United comes back home with a good chance to go further stage. If United could end up with a good result, then they are going to be at quarter finals and will face teams that would not be incredibly hard to beat neither.

Of course we do not know if they are going to beat Sociedad, maybe they will or maybe they won't, but if they do, then they could beat basically anyone in this tournament except Lazio and Bilbao probably. United is a weird team in that regard, we can see them be the champions, or we could see them lose out next game, both are equally realistic and that's a unique situation.

I still see the game as a 50-50 chance for both teams to win, because, if Real Sociedad is better than United, they should have won the match in Spain. Tottenham were really unlucky with that own goal but that wasn't the reason they lost, rather that they didn't have the motivation their opponents had. AZ Alkmaar plays with high mobility and that is supported with quite tough stamina (no wonder they were able to eliminate Galatasaray in the play-offs). They are not only fast in counter-attacking but they are also equally fast in covering the defense. I think Tottenham will struggle in the second leg because AZ Alkmaar will definitely play super defensive football, so it will take a lot of effort for Tottenham to get the win.

Tottenham have to play much better in the second leg. Also, the fans have a big role to play here. The fans have to put pressure on AZ Alkmaar in the second leg and influence them. Roma managing to beat Athletic Club (Bilbao) is the craziest score of the night. I understand they played at home, which made it possible for them to have a better approach to this, but that doesn't mean the result was expected. Roma had a terrible season until they hired Ranieri, and now with Ranieri they are finally recovering and doing better, but nobody assumed they would be able to beat Bilbao, even with red card, people would assume Bilbao would just defend and not lose, and just keep it a tied game.

In this case, next game will be very important, Bilbao will play very offensively, and I mean overloading on offense and they will hope to find some early goals, if they fail and Roma takes advantage of this for a counter attack, we could actually see one of the leading candidates for the title end up losing before quarter finals.

Ajax lost at home to Frankfurt.Although Ajax scored the first goal, Frankfurt managed to turn the match around.Ajax made it difficult for Ajax to get through the round because Frankfurt is not a team that will lose easily at home.I see the chances of Ajax winning away from home as low.

But I believe that they are feeding their algorithms with specific details about teams and what some consequences mean, like injuries or other events that have an impact. Everything still falls to how much you can risk, when you’re able to risk more with higher odds, it’s a good one for you but when your intuition is more accurate to the lower odds, it is better you stick to the lower odds.
