It didn't make me surprised to see Tottenham and Manchester United both failing to win yesterday.    Because their look in the league phase was just deceiving. It wasn't linking with their performances.

Shortly after this phase ended we saw it clearly. AZ could have won even with a bigger goal difference. Tottenham were terrible. I don't think they will make a comeback with this spiritless game. As for Manchester United, it wasn't an easy game for them from the start. The same for Real Sociedad also. Honestly they are both boring clubs this season. I don't care which one gets past this round. I think we could watch extra time and even penalty shoot-outs in the rematch. I expect a low-scoring game in regular time.

These performance are slightly not the expected core task of these clubs. They're underestimated and playing like some random average clubs, they can't possess the confidence to win matches with ease efforts, always struggling to win games, that's generalized aspect about them. So you still possess hope on these EPL clubs and their ambition to win the Europa League? Manchester United and Tottenham have failed to record a win in their first leg against oppositions. You do think one of them have the odds and confidence to step into the crucial Europa League final? Maybe yes or probably no, it depends on probability and how these teams will be competitive.

I.am more confident when Manchester United played away than when they play at home. The results is there to show that they don't know how to use home advantage so I don't want to give anyone any form of home that they will start using home advantage now. So I agree with Alpha Marine that Real Sociedad can win them at Old Trafford. As it stands, luck is not on the side of Manchester United as we have seen in many of their matches. They might still be going through a natural difficult times since their problems does not look like one that has solution. Until they are out of the woods, I won't take them too serious irrespective of who they meet.

Yes, it is true that lately Manchester United have often performed poorly when playing as hosts, even though so far Old Trafford has always been their last line of defense when they have difficulty getting a win.

and seeing how the performance shown by Ruben Amorin and the team, it is very natural that people start to doubt Manchester United even though the next match against Real Sociedad is a home game.

Mourinho's carrier is over, actually it's been over for years, he's lucky to still find some team who believes he's some sort of magician when in reality he's just a comedian. Unfortunately, this is his way of doing things, he has always tried to divert the media's attention from his teams by blaming someone, but to say he is finished I honestly find it a bit excessive,
He won where no one else could for years and years, see Porto, Inter and Roma. The problem is that he is always praised by the fans. But no one has ever noticed that after winning he immediately leaves the team because he knows that it will not be easy to repeat himself once again.

But in terms of shots where AZ Alkmaar made many shots in the first leg this shows that they build attacks better without holding the ball a lot in their style of play. For me Tottenham is still very much favored because they will play in front of their supporters in the second leg later.

However, AZ Alkmaar already has capital from winning the first leg so what they have to do is play well and also improve their defense because the second leg Tottenham will play more aggressively to be able to score many goals. This season's Europa League Tottenham is very favored but if they lose to AZ Alkmaar of course it is a surprise that was not predicted before.

Their mentality will be tested in this match, and there is no choice for them but to play out attacking to be able to steal a goal that can turn things around.

Even as that Tottenham was supposed to be the second, it was more serious because it was not that they didn’t play well. The first leg, but we all see that AZ defense was so hard for them to break through, so this will go a long way for them to also win in the second leg, as AZ will play a defensive game from the beginning of the game till the end so that the game will end in a draw, and it will be to their advantage because they have already won the first leg, so the second leg will not be as easy as it seems if Tottenham can play a game of over 90 minutes and just have a single shot on target; it is enough for you to know that that AZ defense is strong.

The spurs will be getting the same home advantage that has been claimed to be the very advantage of the Dutch side so maybe we could tell better if that was all that got the spurs loosing because already the Dutch side is at an advantage as they got a home win and except for an exceptional win with a good point difference for the spurs, I doubt if they are going to be able to get pass this stage of the Europa,  in their previous meeting, they didn't perform so well as their strikers weren't as effective but if that could be taken care of by their next visit,  hopefully they win and have the chances to proceed to the next stage of the league.

Yes, I also do not understand why Fenerbahce could lose in this match. Even though they were able to dominate the match very well and had many opportunities in this match. I didn't like Fenerbahçe's game today, I expected much better from them. I think Mourinho didn't observe Rangers well enough. This score is embarrassing for them. They should have drawn at home at the worst. Now their quarter-final dreams are probably over. It's very difficult for them to score at least 3 goals and win in Scotland. They have so many good strikers but only Djiku (defender) scored.

I was surprised Manchester United managed to produce such a brilliant performance in Spain. However they let their guard down are in the game, conceding a goal and ultimately settling for a draw. While it was a decent result, United could have secured a win if they had played better. It would be interesting to see if Manchester United can qualify for the next phase of the competition. As for Tottenham, their performance was disappointing. They failed to capitalize on their opponent's weakness and lacked the sharpness needed to secure a victory.

I never want Manchester United to go out of the Super Sixteen, so I will always expect Manchester United to at least come back strong in the second leg and make sure they make the quarter finals. Manchester United is already far behind in the competition of English Premier League, considering the other teams, if they do not succeed in a single tournament with proper planning, then they will be a failed team as before.

The good news though is that Manchester United were able to draw the first leg so whether they go through to the next round or end their Europa League journey will depend on their performance in the second leg. No matter how many new players being added to the Fenerbahce's squad, they will never improve. They are still having unsolved problem, which is related to their coach's strategy. I also aware about how horrible their coach subs.

I may be wrong, but they have to replace their coach if they wanna play better. I don't underestimate their current coach. Their coach lacked of creativity to try different srategy that can fit his club well. If they can sign a coach who can explor a better strategy, they can play better.

What's the use of possession if we don't create anything from it and Tottenham didn't even get many chances in the first leg. From the game implemented by Ange Postecoglou in the first leg, it can be said that he lost in tactics with AZ Alkmaar which made Tottenham's game deadlocked and not develop in the game.

So in the second leg Ange Postecoglou must make a major overhaul because certainly in the second leg AZ Alkmaar will play a defensive game only relying on counterattacks, because their position is already superior on aggregate. Of course if Tottenham's game is as slow as the first leg I'm not sure Tottenham can qualify for the next round even though they are playing in front of their own supporters.

So the solution is Tottenham's strategy must be changed in the second leg and the game must not be slow. Tottenham must be able to play through the midfield in empty spaces plus control the ball, and players must be proactive in moving and running into empty spaces so that they can create many opportunities to score goals.

I think Sociedad will score more than 1.5 goals... But the main gift from the bookies today is the win of AZ Alkmaar against Spurs... The odds are very high - 3.6, and for me it's very strange... Spurs hardly beat dead Hoffenheim, when AZ just destroyed Galatasaray in two matches... I want to say that Man U and Spurs are not favourites for me either...

If you played over 1.5 goals for Real Sociedad then you got it all wrong because Real Sociedad couldn’t score two goals and settled with a 1:1 draw against United. Hopefully in the second leg it gets better and we see more goals.
Spurs go behind yet again again Alkmaar in the first leg tie and only have the second leg to try and come back into this competition.

The form that Tottenham is in is a serious problem for them because they don't have the confidence they used to have a while ago. This is probably going to be one of the worst Premier League seasons for them in a long time.

As for the game against Alkmaar, it still is manageable for them especially since the rule of a goal scored away from home counts double doesn't exist anymore. That would have been tough for them as Alkmaar isn't that bad in counter attacking and then one goal would have meant three goals at least for Tottenham, which in the past would have still been possible, but in their current form I don't think they will more or less easily score three goals.

The result for now is what it is and I wouldn't give Tottenham 50% anymore as Alkmaar goes through with a draw. But it is not like Tottenham is already out, they still have a decent chance to go to the next round.
