But regardless of which card it was Manchester United were excellent in the game and deserved to win, this Europa league is the only saving them from this dreadful season they have already because winning it will mean they have European football next season regardless of where they finish in the table. There is no doubt about it, the U have to get out of the hole where they are, we wait to see how the EUROPA LEAGUE games continue, this protects , I personally think that it is becoming very exciting, the MU has reached the high stages of the Europa League, but in this one they are obliged to win it, otherwise all that they have done will be worthless , they have to earn a place in the UCL, it would be great if they did , they have a very good opportunity , if they play like they did against Real Sociedad, then they can Achieve it.

The achievements currently achieved by Man United in the Europa League are certainly a golden opportunity for Man United to be able to make themselves appear in the UCL and of course considering that currently in the EPL Man United really has a bad fate this season, then of course if for example Man United can win the Europa League title then of course Man United supporters will not be too disappointed with Man United who are not getting good results in the EPL.

Regarding the difference in performance of a team when playing in domestic competitions and also the Europa League, I think it is common, we have seen it happen since long ago, there are even several teams that can become Europa League champions even though their performance has declined in the domestic league so it is also possible for Manchester United this season and I am quite optimistic for Manchester United, especially since until now they have not been defeated in the Europa League even though the strength of the remaining teams in the Europa League is quite even now, but I am sure Manchester United can be the difference for all of that, and at least for Manchester United now they have great hope to win the title.

And this is precisely why I have hopes for them to do better at Europa league than they do in their own league. Of course winning the whole thing would be very tough, and nobody expects them to do that, but if United or Spurs somehow magically end up beating their opponents and one of them ends up winning? That would recover their season completely. Nobody will remember the season where they finished 13th or something, they will remember the season they won Europa league.

Sevilla won this cup so many times now, do you remember each time when they won and what rank they were in la liga? I do not remember at all. This is why all of the bad from this season would be wiped clean if they could only managed to win this cup.

Also only the Europa League trophy can get them into next season’s Champions League automatically so both Manchester United and Tottenham will have to work hard to get it. So the hope of doing something good has to be really prepared because if they make a mistake then the opportunity will be lost for both of them and next season they will miss out on both major competitions.

I remember how Sevilla did it and even though they played badly in La Liga they always managed to do well in the Europa League. But can Manchester United or Tottenham do it? considering there are several other teams who are also quite favored to come out as champions.

As for the match between Tottenham and Frankfurt, IMO it is 50/50, especially after Frankfurt's last match. The penalty shootout will decide the final result.

The unpredictability that comes with supporting Manchester United can actually be humbling and I understand it clearly when you mentioned that you don't have the psychology to be arrogant about the team as they may disappoint later. It even feels like Manchester United and the spurs appears to be suffering same fate, you cannot bank on the spurs aswell both in the Premier League and in the Europa,  it's been a season of too many uncertainties for both team but let's keep our fingers crossed as see what they have got with the europa while hoping for the best.

I didn't see Tottenham advance to the next round of the Europa League, they don't have what it takes to beat Frankfurt, everyone believes that football can be unpredictable at times, but Tottenham has been inconsistent this season, while Frankfurt has performed very well in all competitions this season; they don't take any opponents easily. If Tottenham wins, it may be considered a football miracle.

You can't always predict football because a club you didn't expect will win, and we get the chance to win big clubs.  Lyon are 5th in the league table and are performing very well in the league competition, and Manchester United are not in their best form this season, they are struggling to win matches, so I am not giving Manchester United much hope of beating Lyon, it will be very difficult for Manchester United, and anything can happen, but Amorim simply needs to do his best and win the Europa League for them, so that they can qualify for the UCL next season. That is the only way Manchester United will qualify for the UCL they can qualify through the league because they are not doing well in the league and their league position does not qualify them.13th in the Premier League table, this season is their best chance to win the Europa League, and play the ucl next season, meet large clubs, and perform well, especially if they acquire crucial players next season, as I am confident Amorim will undoubtedly add some new players to the team.

I wouldn't conclude that Lyon will win the match because they are not an English club. United performance against a team that's not in EPL is unpredictable because we might think that they will perform poorly and it will be the opposite. In the round of 16, nobody will believe that United would win the match with a good goal margin, because they were all saying that Real Sociedad has professional players. I will not underestimate United because of their current form.

Manchester United desperately needs to win this competition if they want to play in any European competition. From the look of this they might not make it to the top five, which disqualifies them from any continental competition. The English Premier League has more quality than League One, and the Red Devils also have quality players, which makes them the favourites. But their inconsistency this season makes me cautious while betting on them.

Lyon is not doing badly in the French League. They are occupying the fifth position, which means they will still play in the Europa League next season if the League ends this way. I expect them to give Manchester United a good fight and they might even qualify if they work hard.

of course the opponent that Man United will face will certainly be even tougher and of course in the quarter-final match of course Man United's strength will be tested whether they are able to maintain their unbeaten record or not when facing Lyon.

I'd like to see Fenerbahçe in Rangers' place now but anyway... Rangers isn't much of a challenge for Athletic Bilbao. Lazio are way ahead of Bodø/Glimt in strength. They shouldn't just underestimate them that's all.

You are absolutely correct, if you tell people Manchester united will win Real sociedad with that goal margin and qualify for the quarter finals people won't believe because Manchester united was just off and on. But it was a surprising thing to see how Manchester united played Real sociedad and came to premier league too and beat Leicester with a good goal margin, now lets see how it goes but I think Lyon can not beat Manchester not only because Manchester united is an English club but because Manchester united can be very good at times mostly when people least expect it.

I also agree with your assumption, because the 2 English league teams that are currently in the quarter-finals I think have a very big potential to get a defeat, because we can see for ourselves the performance of the two teams from the English league (Manchester United and Tottenham) both are really in a very bad zone, which is in the teens in their domestic league. So for this I also agree with your assumption. Because if we talk about Lyon, Lazio, Frankfurt, and Bilbao, these 4 teams have a very good reputation in their respective domestic leagues. So it's no wonder that the 4 teams are able to enter the semifinals in the European league. Because in the preliminary round, the 4 teams have given very satisfying results, so with that I think it's only natural that these 4 teams enter the semifinals. And besides that, I personally have a prediction that Lazio will be able to enter the final round, because as we know in the preliminary round, Lazio managed to become the leader of the standings and this was obtained by Lazio, because their performance was really great. But as for who the opponent will be, I personally don't have a prediction yet.

Been exact about what's likely going to happen between Manchester United and Lyon is really going to be difficult because both teams have some level of unpredictability in that lyon has been doing well meanwhile Manchester United has been inconsistent except for this europa where they have tried to do something different.  The best team has got to win in this fixture,  frankfurt my likely do better than the spurs,  they have been more stable,  they have been consistent and have some good performances that they can actually fall back at but I don't trust the spurs that much,  even as they do look like they will be able to scale through all of this, I still don't have good confidence in them.

Manchester United knows that they’re not going to have a chance to get to the champions league through their premier league performance this season, so they have to find another way to make their qualification to the champions league next season happen, the only way will be through the Europa League which they are still in the competition and showing some positive potential for the Europa League trophy at the end of the season.

Manchester United needs to be more qualitative in their play because the remaining rounds left for them to reach the final stage of the competition in not an easy one and there are other top teams that play well like them and can get a chance for the trophy also. My problem with Manchester United is that they have become very unpredictable in the recent time unlike them so as it is I don't even know what to really say about them, though it seems amorim is finally discovering a new and a working football pattern for them which may may be yield more good result in the coming days, I think it is funny for any team to be seen as weak team or belittled in any competition talk more of the UEFA Europa league, every team in any competition should be faced with very much force and seuousnes if really Manchester United want to keep going, for me opportunities can be created but utilizing them is what matters which I believe that Manchester should be considering as amove and the way to get the ground running smoothly, though the stand a good chance in the UEFA  Europa League this season but they most back themselves up by building a formiidable force and also make sure they don't allow any unwanted surprise by their opponents.

Keeping Manchester United and Tottenham out of your list seems like selfishness because right now they are among the favorites to win the Europa League because they are big teams and have a lot of experience.
Tottenham can be removers even though that are given their best in the Europa League more than any other league, but I don’t think Manchester United can be eliminated by Lyon Easily because the team needs this trophy and the players are now very serious if you check their last matches.

However, for Athletic Bilbo and Lazio, I think they can actually make it even though they still need to put more effort to make it through.

Manchester United perform a very nice game this season in the Europa League, no doubt, as they are the only unbeaten team from the start of the season in the Europa League till date, and there is a higher possibility that they will be able to win against Lyon in the quarterfinals and meet up in the semifinals, where they might meet Bilbao, as I am also sure they will be the ones to win at that side.

So even though Manchester United don’t meet up to the finals, I have that feeling that they might meet up with Lazio in the final, but if it’s not possible, there is a very sure assurance that Manchester United will be able to be in the Champions League next season, so at least it is a good thing for them. But I have them maintain their consistency and meet up for the finals.

I think i have confidence in Manchester United in the Europa League than the Premier League because they have kept yet an unbeaten run in the Europa League and with their level of performance till this stage they are, i don't have much doubt in then again and for Manchester United to win a strong opponent like Real Sociedad both home and away, they can also win Lyon even though Lyon have also been very up and doing in their Europa League games. Lyon don't have much European experience as Manchester United do, so we shouldn't even make any comparison between both teams, if not that Manchester United have been flopping for a very long time now, who is Olympique Lyonnais to contest with Manchester United. Manchester United did won the Europa League in 2016/2017 season under Jose Mourinho, this could also be one of their seasons to win the Europa League again. I trust Ruben Amorim to lead his boys to victories because that will be his greatest achievement for the club this season.
