Bitcoin versus stocks : Which is your preferred pick between the two and why ?

Anyway, not that long explanation about why everyone is going to choose BTC here, you're in a bitcoin forum and this is much the preference of the majority here. But I think even if you ask this on a stocks forum, there will be folks choosing BTC over their stocks preference.

To put it bluntly, the reason we chose bitcoin is because we believe it offers higher returns than stocks. Profit is the main reason, other reasons like decentralization and privacy are just secondary to make the explanation more vivid, nothing more.

If stock investors decide to move to bitcoin instead of stocks, they will join the bitcoin forum, not the stock forum. Like you are a bitcoin investor, are you active on any stock forums? I guess not. So if you ask this question on a stock forum, they won't even care.

Yup, profit is the main reason and we that have stayed and witnessed how it is going for Bitcoin will stay. While we're open to explore other markets like the stocks, S&P 500 and others that we can also dive in but if we like staying here, there is no need to go elsewhere and take another risk. At least with Bitcoin, we already understand how its risk goes and there is no need to adjust.

It actually depends. If they're totally new and want to get into the community, everyone is free to learn what they can learn about Bitcoin and join communities like Bitcoin. But they are not that new at all at taking risks and understanding how the market works.

Stock market is very old and mature as compared to Bitcoin. There are huge numbers of investors/traders associated with stock market. This forum is about Bitcoin that’s why majority of people will say they will prefer Bitcoin over stock because that’s what we are familiar with. I would say it’s a personal choice to choose between both or we can develop a hybrid model in which we invest in both crypto and Bitcoin.

Stock is a tricky business because you have to perform research on different stocks before picking the few for investment. While in Bitcoin, we only have to focus on one thing i.e. Bitcoin. The advantage Bitcoin offers is that it’s safe investment if you are planning to hold it for long term and also affordable because you can invest a specific money every week or month i.e. DCA.

Both are good to be honest. Stocks for a steady investment since it's pretty consistent and growth or if you want some dividends, stocks is a go-to investment but of course unlike bitcoin, it's very traditional but if you're looking for more modern system, then bitcoin. It's global adaptation is already happening and more to happen soon, people are shifting to it and looking for a good spot to invest. The only con in BTC is being volatile BUT you're the one who controls it of course, in order to have a consistent gain in crypto, you really need to take advantage every ups and down of it like riding the flow.

If we evaluate it fairly, investing in stocks is not too bad, especially with technology stocks like NVDA, MSFT or TSMC...all of which have strong and stable growth. But the hurdle is that investing in them is more complicated due to legal and regulatory issues, since not everyone is a US citizen. Meanwhile, bitcoin is more accessible and has virtually no barriers, as long as someone has internet access they can invest in bitcoin.

But I don't think high volatility is a disadvantage of bitcoin, it can even be seen as an advantage. One common trait among all bitcoin investors is that they are willing to take risks, the higher the volatility the more they like it because they can earn higher returns. I rarely find a bitcoin investor who doesn't like bitcoin's volatility.

Bitcoin is the best coin tested with time, and to be safe and have the best stability offered yet, one should put effort only into it, and he would probably succeed in his investment.

Price volatility is the reason why investors either gain returns from bitcoin or lose. Without volatility ^[stable] - bitcoin does not give any return to its investors, traders gain because of price volatility and so do investors.

I wouldn't consider bitcoin a good performing investment asset if its price was stable - so this volatility has been considered the most important factor why investors and traders are always in it. Of course it is a risky investment - but the returns are worth the risk you consider.

There's nothing bad in aiming for both though, especially with platforms that have both stocks and crypto trade options. For example example trading stocks here gets you some bonus.

I'm not very knowledgeable about stock trading, so I prefer Bitcoin. Even with Bitcoin, I don't do day trading. I just buy and hold, simple as that. Since I’ve already experienced and proven that it’s profitable for me, it would be foolish to switch from Bitcoin to stocks.

To answer based on the title I would say that I don't do stock trading and if you say day trading with Bitcoin I wouldn't do that either because I'm not that skilled here. Yes I do that which will benefit me - I buy and hold Bitcoins which is my preference. Since it is easy to do I chose the easy way from my personal perspective.

You are not far from the truth; this is a Bitcoin forum, and the majority of the people here are pro-Bitcoin except for a few who look into other things, which will truly give an honest view about the stock market and not just be based on how they view Bitcoin. If not, someone who knows about stocks will also know that it's easy to invest in the stock market just like we do with Bitcoin. The difference is decentralisation, self-custody and many others, but in terms of seeing them as investments, they can both be easily accessed.

Honestly, I prefer stocks because I feel like they are in a safer environment and they kick off income (dividend stocks).  They're also easily tracked by exchanges so that you never have to worry about making a mistake on your taxes.  They have an established method of holding via 3rd parties, so you don't have self custody fears or have to worry about hacks stealing your money as it is all insured.

Bitcoin is awesome and I love it.  If I had to choose only one thing to hold ALL of my net worth in though, I would choose stocks and sleeping peacefully at night.  As is, I don't have to make that choice so I hold both.  Diversification is ultimately the answer.

Why not go for both? Btw which stocks have you been actively accumulating over the years??. I've got for stocks like NVDA, TSLA, googl and some more.. that's why I'm going all hard to accumulate them slowly by slowly, thankfully these opportunities on exchanges like Bitget has made it easier.. got this TSLA drop earlier. now looking forward to leverage the ongoing one to get NVDA
