I have sold all of alts i have back in January, and never expect the same patter to happen in short time. We got big pump at march 2024, then side ways until Trump's event at september that brings alts back to the another high.

Don't be greedy bro. Market is always moving up and down, but will be worsen when it's moving down deeper than moving up just like alts pattern now.

I took some profit but not much as it was only end of 2024 the last pump, we still had all of 2025 to go so thought it was too early selling all of my altcoins back then.

Its been very testing holding mainly altcoins last few years, I have no choice but to just keep holding and wait for some kind of alt season but we have no idea when that will be some are saying it’s coming next month and some are saying not till Q4 , either way I’m holding till it happens.

I won’t sell a large portion of my Bitcoin this year but when I think we are near the top of this bull run I will sell a big portion of ky Altcoin bags. The reasonable thing to do would be getting out of that, it makes no sense to stay in this and would be a lot better if we could just sell and get out. Alts are risky, they are not for 10+ year holding, that is for bitcoin. So, if you are holding altcoins then you are going to end up with a better price, would make more sense.

If we could make more money with bitcoin then we should be holding bitcoin and after the pump, reasonable thing to hold would be bitcoin. Does bitcoin go up during bear market? Obviously not, but it doesn't go down that much, not as much as most altcoins. So that is why it would make more sense if we could just keep holding it and we could make a lot more money. That is going to be a tough situation to be in.

I am not heavy on altcoin but I am not really seeing the market going to make a big pump like it did before. I am not saying we would not see the altcoin seaosn again, but what I’m saying is that it may not really perform so well as it did in the December/January period when we really thought the market will continue to pump in that direction. No hopes should be lost yet because altcoins to me seems to be magical sometimes and when you get on hold on some of them, their performance will cover for the rest that don’t even perform well during the bull market, so even if not all of your altcoin holding pumps, you may still benefit and will be on a good net percentage ratio when the market begins to pump.

Yes, absolutely. I have been offloading most coins especially trendy new ones. Bitcoin is the only thing that matters.

No I am not selling any coins not even Bitcoin for next pump. I am a long term hodler and do not want to make some fast profit.
For me to make some fast profit is not how I want to invest my fiat in crypto. We can make alot of fast money if we are a trader.
But it is not how I want to make gains in crypto. I do think there is alot of investors that dont want to hodl their alt coins for along time. But it is not what I will do.

All this will accomplish is to turn you from a long-term holder into a long-term loser. Except the top performing coins and some lucky cases here and there, most altcoins die and never recover their previous prices. Holding works for Bitcoin, it does not work for altcoins.

Well if you invest into project you do not believe in long-term it is a bad investment

None of us knows what is going to happen this week let alone next few months so all we can do is hope Bitcoin can hit at least $150k and altcoins have some kind of alt season.

It has been a lesson learned for me, I wont be so heavy in altcoins next cycle. I have had some good returns, my portfolio is still +30% overall but it has just been too volatile for my liking.

Trumps tariffs have really hit the market hard since February and we need some good news this month with the FED, we need rate cuts by the sound of it and hopefully they come this month but who knows.

My plan is to cash out in the bottom as i have my shorts ready. I see this is potentially as a profitable head and shoulders situation, if i get leveraged shorting just right. That would require some luck as well.

Been in crypto few years , none of us have any idea which way this market is heading.  Feels like so much manipulation going on this year.

We have had 5 months of downward action for altcoins and as i dont believe we are in a bear market, i expect them to go on a run at some point.

The feeling that altcoins will go a lot higher than it is, in the following weeks or months has made many investors make the mistake of not taking their profit at the right time when the altcoins they hodl have gone up. When market turns bearish unexpectedly, they complained of how they loss their investment in altcoins, forgetting that altcoins pump presented itself to them, but they failed to utilize it to their advantage of making much gains.

It's not all the altcoins that pumped last year that is going to pump again if the overall market is pumping, altcoins presents a pump opportunity just ones or twice and if you are unable to catch up with those pump and sell your tokens, you wait a longer time or you lose for ever. Most altcoins is not meant to be trading below $10 again because they have passed through so many bull season but yet didn't pump again.

This is just the ugly reality about alt and meme coin, once they drop significantly, they hardly recover back to their previous level, and this is one major reason why it's extremely dangerous to hold unto alt or meme coin for a very long time because you might encounter as such a situation which might result in significant loss when it drop as they usually does.

The data clearly shows that in most cases you lose money when you buy altcoins instead of Bitcoin. If some outliers to this exist, that does not make this advice wrong. You are taking a huge risk. While Bitcoin is at its ATH, there are many thousands of altcoins which are dead or which will never reach their old ATH again.

That article is even underestimating the numbers. It says Over 50% of Cryptocurrencies Have Failed, but the reality is that it is like 99%. Just because they haven't stopped trading fully everywhere, that does not make something alive. There was research on those meme tokens in Solana, and that paints a more accurate picture. Percentage of dead memes is already in the high 90s.
