Milan needs a senior player on the team to provide input to the younger players. Remember how the public judged Giroud during his time at Milan? They thought he was no longer fit for Milan, but he ultimately proved his worth and delivered a Serie A title to AC Milan. Modric is also expected to deliver titles, and to provide advice to the younger players on the pitch. This is my personal assumption, but the reality is that Milan often wins with older players.

They're spending a lot of money at Milan, and who knows if all this money will translate into results? Unfortunately, that's not a given.

It's been on since and we already knew Modric was heading to AC Milan after his contract with Real Madrid runs out and immediately after he played his last game for Real Madrid it was just a matter of coming back from America and signing the deal. IMHO, There was no need for Milan to sign Modric. He is literally about to be 40 in a couple of months. Do they think of using him in the starting 11 regularly or is it just to make their squad depth better?

Going to AC Milan is his choice but he would have just retired at Real Madrid because it would have given him more glory since he is near retirement. Perhaps, it's just a one year deal at AC Milan after which he will retire so he should have extended his contract at Real Madrid for that one year because he can add more trophies there but going to AC Milan, he may not achieve anything over there. Though he has his own reservations for moving to AC Milan which only him knows so it's his decision and what more can i say if not to wish him good luck. This is a good move even though I was expecting that Modric move to the middle east and play so that he can get some good cash before going on retirement but he chooses to remain in Europe this is just passion even though Madric is not a player that can't play at the top level his experience is needed currently at the Milan midfield Milan struggled this last season so they will try to improve on last season performance.

Considering how significant the role he played for Real Madrid is, I was also thinking he would stay at Madrid till he decides to retire but  on the flip side, I think Madrid are the ones not asking for a contract renewal, they did the same thing to Toni kroos just that kroos didn't want to play anymore, if not, he would have still found himself a better option with top European clubs, just the way Luka Modric did.

AC Milan i know will really going to enjoy his experience and the technical play that he will bring in their midfield, players with the quality of Luka modric don't just fade away so quickly, because they still have a lot of contribute to the body of football, trust me if after the end of the season he gives them what they want in terms of contribution, you would likely see a contract renewal from AC.

It's not strange that AC Milan signed Modric. The Italian league is one of the leagues in Europe where you would find many older players still doing well. He's got a few years left, and he can still have a successful spell at Milan before he ends his career.

Money is not everything, and of course, there was interest from Al Nassr, Inter Miami, Dinamo Zagreb, and Rangers, but I guess the prospect of playing in a top league was what made him choose AC Milan.
