So are you somehow mentioning the 21 dyas rule? Because I think 21 days of crypto staking will not keep you away from gambling. Unless you can divert your mind to other things. But yes, you can follow the 21 day rule if you want. I read This article and saw that the person got good results.

I also tried to quit smoking by following this 21 day rule but in the end I failed.

I heard about this maybe 20 years ago, more or less... it takes 3 days to get used to something, and 21 days to break that habit.

I don't think we can "hack" self-control... Everything is in the building discipline & character, and of course, there must be a real & big wish to stop doing something. Once you decide you really wish to stop, just move your focus to other things and take it easy... day by day, mile by mile... When you get an urge, just go running, take a book or a movie... go out and dig a hole... there's always something else we can do.

Gambling requires extra patience. If you don't have patience while gambling, you will never be able to win in gambling and keep your money. I think the first thing to win in gambling is patience and luck. So I am surprised to see the activities of some people. They spend extra time on gambling, leaving aside their business and jobs. As I have bolded, that is just the main focal point if one must stop an addiction, being disciplined plays a big role in curbing one's excesses and makes them be informed to control themselves towards an act that seems alright to go with. But before you think of having that discipline, there must be a zeal to stop that which you find difficult in controlling yourself, for if not, one can not be able to do away with such a habit they tend to stop.

Aside from that, if one can be able to distract themselves whenever the urge comes up, they can be able to overcome it; maybe they can do as you have said by engaging in activities that could occupy their mind time so as to keep them busy.

Yeah, you are right, the best way not to get lured into gambling when you don't actually want to gamble is to train your mind to only gamble when you want to gamble and not gamble when you really don't want to gamble and/or don't have to gamble, if one gets addicted to gambling and thinks the way for him not to gamble when he doesn't want to is to stake his money in a non flexible way, such a person is definitely going to be surprised the way he or she will fail and always a means to gamble even when his or her money is staked..

There are people who borrow to gamble even when they do not have any means of paying back the money if they do not win, I dont see any reason why someone who staked his money won't go after borrowing to spend on gambling with hope of paying back the borrowed money when the money he or she staked gets unlocked.

Well, someone who is already addicted to gambling will hardly find a worthy distraction that can successfully take their mind off gambling when that urge to gamble has occupied their mind, what you are saying can only work if and when the party involved isn't an addicted gambler, or someone is semi-addicted - that is, in the process of getting addicted.
Because on the norm, a person who isn't addicted shouldn't have any problem with not gambling when he or she doesn't want to gamble, such a person can easily find distractions like watching a movie as you said, or even going out to watch some people playing football even if he or she can't join them to play.

If he earned money from his work, he could easily use his salary to gamble. But that needs allocation with the right to know how much money he can use, while he cannot risk much. No need to take a loan for gambling because we don't know if we can pay back the money or not.

This is never going to work, a gambling addict will do all the necessary things to do for them to avoid gambling, but their mind is where the addiction lies, the mind is trapped already, and that's the problem. They can follow your rules from now till several months later but once you unleashed them from that captive their mind will take full control again.

To escape from the captivity of gambling the gambler need to make up the mind, they have to first let go of gambling from their very mind who once was the culprit that enslaved them thinking they can become financially free by gambling, if they can do this everything will fall into place.
