At first banks didn’t want to associate with Bitcoin or one way or the other they did while using the customers savings to do the technical investment, but never recommending the customers to invest themselves because they are unsure of the risk to reward ratio due to the volatile nature of Bitcoin .
Recently Nordic bank is about offering Bitcoin ETFs (Bitcoin Exchange traded Funds) to its clients starting from December. I think the banking system are coming to realization about the backup potential of Bitcoin and they’ll try to utilize the opportunity by creating a Bitcoin investment platform directly managed by them for their client and will urge them to invest in Bitcoin.
This way they’ll be able to benefit from the customer investment by charging a commission or fee whenever a client does a transaction or charging a custody fee to secure and manage the clients bitcoin, either way, there will be a charge or fee from your investment and a profit from your investment on your their own end.
To those of us on here that haven’t started accumulating Bitcoin due doubts or whatever the case maybe, why not show some courage and do the work yourselves now instead of waiting for the bank to make things easier for you at a cost. I’ve come across a thread in this forum that was highlighting exchanges and wallet you can use to accumulate Bitcoin with the minimum of a dollar, some of which are Luna wallet, Kraken Exchange and Uphold Exchange.
According to Michael Saylor “By the time bankers tell you it’s ok to buy it, it’ll cost you a million dollar a Bitcoin and when they tell you it’s a Good idea it’ll cost 10 million dollar a bitcoin” Smiley

bitcoin is getting more and more popular as days go by and the banks know that a lot of people are more interested in buying bitcoin now so instead of letting their customers find another platform they capitalize on the demand for bitcoin and keep their clients because clients mean more profit

Banks already advertise Bitcoin as investment alternative for their customers, however, they don't let investors have control over the acquired Bitcoins. They can't even cashout the BTC from the bank if they wished. So, it's not a great deal for customers, but definitely a good deal for banks. For those who want to invest in Bitcoin, I don't suggest doing so through a bank. Rather, do it by yourself purchasing Bitcoin directly from someone else, and in the worst case buy it from an exchange, so you can transact your coins to a safe wallet you own the keys on the sequence.

Aside from Bitcoin being a profitable investment product, banks have realized the threat it poses to their existence. They have no ways but to join the crypto club with all possible means, just like did governments who realized as well the mashrooming spread of bitcoin culture and how this may directly damage its power.
Banks advertises Bitcoin so that they are not overtaken by events that lead them to find find themselves isolated with fiat money crisis.

My curious question to those who "haven’t started accumulating Bitcoin due doubts" until today is: what are you waiting for? Whatever it is that you're doing, time is probably not on your side.

If you're carefully scrutinizing Bitcoin down to its minutest technical detail to be able to come up with a decision as to whether it's worth investing in or not, I'm supporting you. But perhaps you might also want to consider the opinions of experts and the decisions of billion-dollar and trillion-dollar financial giants. I doubt they'll jump right into it without making serious assessments themselves.

Bitcoin ETF?

Not bad at all, but I'll be happier if they tell own your own real Bitcoin and store it in your wallet, notan ETF where you can't control it, "not your keys, not your coins".
We can't blame them as they still need to make money on it.

Banks cannot do anything outside the context of what the regulations guiding their use of crypto states for them, do expect more of their participation if the government in your country permits them to engage into bitcoin, ehiskenif they were not permitted, then all that you should be expecting is attacks, this is how government operates, and am yet to get an answer to why all these happens in such manner.

Recently Nordic bank is about offering Bitcoin ETFs (Bitcoin Exchange traded Funds) to its clients starting from December.
if not for the ETF, I doubt they will be offering the same thing and I doubt they like the idea of self custody.

But since even the ETF is offered by BlackRock, Fidelity, Franklin Templeton and so on. For sure they'd trust the ETF and even recommend it.
It's just tradfi integrating with other tradfi. I'd be waiting for the day they recommend direct bitcoin investment.

They're not good wallets for self-custody investing, and they don't change the initial situation: you're still stuck in a centralized system. Investing in Bitcoin shouldn't just be about its potential value, but also about investing in security knowledge, which eliminates the need for third parties to "custody" your wealth, eliminating censorship, unnecessary complex verification, and (a side effect) reducing the concentration of Bitcoin flows in the hands of a single central authority. The popular saying is, "Be your own bank." There are several recommended self-custody wallets that can help achieve that goal. https://asktom.cf/index.php?topic=1631151.0

I dont know about that but in our country once the bank knows you trading bitcoin and own it and using their bank to transact with it. They will so tacky about you and eventually will suggest to close your account or worse freezes your money since you are affiliated with crypto especially on bitcoin. That's why it's better to stay anonymous as it is.

The skeptical attitude shown by the Bank began to soften after they realized that Bitcoin was a viable and profitable investment asset for the long term. The change in attitude from the Bank shows that they cannot completely fight Bitcoin, only by associating they can survive and increase revenue by launching a Bitcoin investment platform that they manage to facilitate their clients.

Nordic Bank has taken a major step that could change banking history by increasing Bitcoin accessibility to traditional investors. In the future, we may see more bank-managed Bitcoin investment platforms if other banks follow Nordic Bank's lead. I think this is a great start in raising public awareness of Bitcoin's advantages. This breakthrough could also make investing in Bitcoin more accessible to the wider community.

At first banks didn’t want to associate with Bitcoin or one way or the other they did while using the customers savings to do the technical investment, but never recommending the customers to invest themselves because they are unsure of the risk to reward ratio due to the volatile nature of Bitcoin .
Banks don't have an issue with you investing in bitcoin especially if you're going to invest through them. The only point where it seems they are not loud about bitcoin investment is when government have restricted them from accepting bitcoin and since they are centralised platform, it's only normal that they kind of act cold towards promoting bitcoin.

If the analogy is that banks sees bitcoin as a threat and for that reason don't openly promote bitcoin, I doubt that's the case. The main issue is that as a centralised institution that are monitored by the government, it's not possible for them to act in a way that's contrary to what is allowed in the region they operate.

They know bitcoin is future, that's exactly why they soften their stance and offered bitcoin. Can't ignore a market when the market cap is reaching $2.187 Trillion.
There's a lot of opportunity they missed by just not offering BTC even the ETF ones. As it happens, bitcoin did 2x since ETF. Of course everyone want to invest in it now.

Yeah we have that happening here. Its funny because these banks are few years ago were very anti-crypto and now they want you to invest your money with them because they are offering investments into crypto ETFs, funny how that goes.

The reason why they are doing it is because they want to earn management fees from you. And this is nothing like taking your money and using it to buy the nasdaq index or government bonds. They put that money into the market for you and they get a small return in exchange. They make money whether your investment grows or shrinks. They will make tons of money if they get millions of dollars in flows. Hence they are doing this. Its to make more money themselves. They dont care what they are selling.

You know what they say about bitcoin:

“The best time to buy bitcoin was 10 years ago. The second best is right fucking now.”

People can cry about the chances they missed in the past all day long but they don’t realize, if they don’t buy now, they are still missing it.

So called experts say bitcoin is a risky asset. That’s why the upwards potential is amazing. If there weren’t any risks, everybody would have adopted btc already and it would go only sideways.

Banks want the money too, they see Bitcoin as an opportunity to make some money that's why they won't let it slide pass them, investing in Bitcoin through the banks won't come for free, they will have access to your Bitcoin and be able to use them to their own advantage in the back door.

Bank has never done anything for free without making money out of it, I will never in any way let my bank take over my Bitcoin for any reasons, the more the adoption rate of Bitcoin the more we are getting exposed to centralisation control, this shouldn't be happening, but I don't blame them, it is on users to figure out which route they want to go about this, you are the only one who can choose to keep Bitcoin in the decentralised way or centralized way, Bitcoin gives power of control to the people.

In my country, a local bank decided to create a Bitcoin service through a sister company but they were pretending that a sister company was just a partner and was not associated with them but everyone knew that it wasn't true. Btw banks only care about profit. They realise everything and the potential of Bitcoin very well. If there is a thing that they can do legally and it will generate a profit, they'll do it.

That's true, by the time the thing becomes so accessible that even banks can offer it, its value will be very high and will not be as attractive for investment as it could be before banks adopting it.

Right, it's business after all, and they have this mentality of "if you can't beat it, join them". So that's why what we are seeing in today's cycle. But years ago, they are all against Bitcoin because it's a threat and they used a lot of FUD and attacks, like it's a scam, poison rat etc etc.

But then they realized that it's growing and whatever negative they say, it just fuel's people to invest on them. So now that institutional money are flowing into the market, they don't have a choice but to endorse it to their clients and think about the profits that they are going to make.

I think the banking system are coming to realization about the backup potential of Bitcoin and they’ll try to utilize the opportunity by creating a Bitcoin investment platform directly managed by them for their client and will urge them to invest in Bitcoin.
This is after a long term of trials and error, seeing the success rate of Bitcoin over their system, knowing well that if their entire clients comes to learn personally the possibilities in Bitcoin, they might end up not having anyone as client in the nearest period of time, this is a major reason for the quick change and adoption to Bitcoin so as they will not be left behind, as more and more institutional bodies are already taking their stand in the crypto market, making profit in their investments.

Quote
This way they’ll be able to benefit from the customer investment by charging a commission or fee whenever a client does a transaction or charging a custody fee to secure and manage the clients bitcoin, either way, there will be a charge or fee from your investment and a profit from your investment on your their own end.
This is why they are in business, and the same thing the crypto exchanges are out there for, for the profits they can generate from every traders/transactions made. On the side of the banks, there will be more restrictions compared to crypto exchanges, though this might not be visible at this early stage by those who will use their system as a form of investing in Bitcoin/cryptocurrencies.

Anyone here in this forum that is still skeptic about investing in Bitcoin and related crypto currencies should leave, because this is Bitcoin Talking Forum, or should still read this post
