Main problem is that Bitcoin is digital option to gold that has better features, such as provable scarcity, easy transferability, and high divisibility, and this makes people think why they would choose gold instead. So, you are correct Bitcoin is still fantastic store of value to patient people, because it has high returns and can be proven to have limited supply, even though its price can change in short term.

Are you sure Peter Schiff is not just only saying this but some gangs behind him telling him to tell people this rubbish? He is a critic, he does not want anything good with bitcoin.

I think some people may be afraid of bitcoin not to take gold place. They could have seen something like that early but they just want to avoid it as they know people may follow their advice.

There are certain talks that shouldn't remove ignored and requires giving attention to in other not to create the impression on those that are gullible that the silence from bitcoiners about what men like Schiff is ranting about on the media could be truth while it's not. Funny enough he never came out to make such false fuss when bitcoin was making all that all time highs, and just when there's a price correction coinciding with when gold seem to be near it record high, boom Schiff now saw it as a right time to strike and feed the newbies and the public with FUDs. You are right about strange way of some important people who openly talk against Bitcoin to create FUD or fear, but secretly own some themselves. It is because they are afraid of missing out in case Bitcoin becomes success, and they use their very small amounts as safety net. This is one of ways of getting attention in form of public criticism or even making price lower in order to buy more at lower price. Most common advice to beginner is to be smart, not to listen to their negative words, but to think about the simple facts of Bitcoin, such as its small supply and growing popularity among all world, since actions of big companies to purchase it matter more than words of critics.
