To be honest I don't really know what they are looking for in gambling because gambling is not a source of income, what a sad news it has been a while since we had about sad story like this. I thought gamblers have understand the role of luck but it seems they are still making the same mistake which many gamblers have passed this level, just imagine how this young student of 300L end his life just because of wanting to win the game knowing fully well that luck has the final power. This is so sad it would have endure the lose and put himself together than taking because of cut ticket and commit suicide.

I guess people who commit such sad acts already have taken everything into consideration as they maybe thought themselves that I either make it or break it and as such they only want to hit it big and change their life or end it. This is the most stupid thing one person can do in my opinion as no matter how bad, hard or impossible things look at a certain moment they can always be fixed and taking your own life certainly is not the way to fix things. Some people have such a strong ego that they cannot accept failure and prefer death but that in my opinion is an even bigger failure as you end your life in the most shameful of ways. May he rest in peace and may not a single person anymore take his own life because of gambling.

Living in poverty gives a lot of stress that makes a simple financial problem for us is unbearable for them considering that it’s hard to find job in there while he is still a student with debt.

I think their government should start regulating gambling strongly to avoid minor gambling since a student shouldn’t be allowed to gamble.

A high percentage of people who gamble in poor nations do it solely for money. Some of them are unemployed or underemployed and see gambling as a means of income. That is why some can go to the extent of using money from any sourece to for gambling.

The gambling age in some countries is 18+ and most students in college fall within this age. I am of the view that gambling activities such as physical betting shop should not be allowed to be within school environment.

Maybe, cases of suicide when losing gambling, if I'm not mistaken, I've read this the umpteenth time in different cases and different countries, that's what we regret, this is a valuable lesson for all of us. losing in the gambling arena and losing the money we have is not the end of life, there are many ways and ways to resolve such situations.

The reason someone would want to take their life after a cut ticket is because he sees gambling as a gets Rich quick scheme and then he puts a lot of money into a single game, sometimes his life savings and when the bet does not go through and he loses that money he becomes devastated and suicidal.

A 300L university student reportedly commit suicide after losing money to gambling. From the story going viral, he was made the caretaker of the Lodge he was residing in by the landlord. He remitted just small amount of money from the money he collected from the fellow students occupying the lodge as tenants and reportedly use the remaining to gamble.

It's really sad, but those who have faced such problems and lost self-control do these things. That is why we should not put too much trust in gambling. So that his life is threatened. Yes, he could be under stress because of the loans and the amount of money that he lost, nevertheless, this is not the solution. It is not until you eventually commit suicide that you have died in the process of gambling. right from that moment you allow gambling to control your actions and start making it look as though your life revolves around gambling, you have already set yourself up for gambling addiction and part of what comes with it when it gets really bad is the thought of commiting suicide.

Technically, afaik debt isn't inheritable. So I guess, they don't really need to pay it.

But going back to the main point, ending your life isn't really the solution to it. But I understand that why some gamblers resort to ending their life because they feel like they have no way to escape the situation they're in. The problem caused them so much stress.

I don't think he committed suicide because of the game, he probably did that to escape the debt. From the story going around, he's not a first time gambler but a serial gambler who's been gambling right from the beginning of his university education. I believe he has been losing money in the process all this while but he never commit suicide until now. He gamble with the money meant for the Landlord (this is obviously the money he can not afford to lose) but he still gamble with it anyway. Since he has no alternative to get back the money, he thinks suicide will help put the issue to rest. So yeah, game is still the genesis of the whole issue.

People hardly realise this, mostly addicted gamblers and newbie gamblers who are actually still very excited about gambling and the addicted ones who are overly hopeful and has got too much faith in gambling that they believe they will be able to just get their ways around it at anytime the way they want.  Because they have had scenarios where they have won before and so they begin to feel like  they have got it figured with gambling and they just keep risking as much, believing they will win eventually and cover for all of the losses they ever had with the funds they did borrowed.

What a sad news and a great loss to this guy family. He was sent to school but took gambling more seriously and ended up taking his own life. Gambling can never be a part of life, gambling with the money we can lose will not have an additional psychological impact on ourselves as a result, gambling can be managed very easily by keeping the mind calm and following the right rules. I don't know what could be the consequences for what he did in his local community (gambling and losing third party's funds), but I suspect it could be something quite serious, since he decided going into the route he took instead.

We don’t really know what happened inside his head, but it’s not new that some people end up taking their own lives because of financial problems. This case is even more serious, since he didn’t just ruin things for himself, he also dragged other people into it by taking money that wasn’t his.

His addiction probably pushed him to do that, because if he were thinking clearly, he would know there’s no guaranteed winning in gambling. Once you lose, it’s very hard to fix the problem. But in that moment, he was likely too hyped about winning and didn’t even consider the possibility of losing.

Gambling is not an avenue for making money i still don't know why most youths of nowadays are still not and failing to accept and understand that gambling is not for making money instead for fun and that you just have to gamble with what you have and can afford to loose not what you don't have,how can't he use his landlords money in his possession to gamble, what does he expect.
A student that is supposed to be focused in studies gambling why can't he be patience and focus on his study see where greed has led him to.
