This is clearly a violation of "The Computer Misuse Act 1990", such as detailed in the act; "unauthorised access to computer material, punishable by 12 months' imprisonment", where Cristiano Ronaldo is installing a virus to steal your electricity. ..and.. "Section 36. Unauthorised acts with intent to impair operation of computer, etc. punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine or both" Installing a miner will impare the operation of your computer.
Then everyone at Adobe should be in jail for flash. You got that right! Flash is a worse virus than Winblows and that's hard to beat. This was clearly placed by hackers. So Sherlock, some evidence please Thought about admins earning some extra BTC https://hothardware.com/news/showtimeanytimecom-hacked-to-mine-monero-cryptocurrency-using-coin-hive-minerIf it smells like a fish, it is a fish.

OK so if price and volume = market cap and increased market cap = increased price
If this mining fad kicks off will we see an increase in volume and therefor price of Monro's?
Is no news bad news? or will we get some taint from this?
is the only browser based miner so far Monero or are there others?

I can see only lower price because of this- it's free'ish money for the owners of these websites and will probably sell often at whatever price is.

Unfortunately I have to agree - if coin supply outstrips demand then the Monero price goes down :-( I think that the high Monero emission rate has probably been too fast - too many coins in too few hands, and not enough merchants and infrastructure to use the coins.

Doesn't volume drive price though? I learned a lot over the years. But its lots of anecdotal things sometimes.
I thought this was a fundamental type thing. But admittedly I do still get confused, because isn't dumping high volume, and that doesn't lead necessarily to higher prices.
More I know less I know sometimes.

Oh I see what you mean now, they have no overheads.
So they are like our version of free/cheap electricity miners, no one else can compete with them then on price to ROI.
Thanks, sometimes just need to engage brain a bit more.

Yes, they're basically just stealing CPU cycles and Memory instead (well, also electricity but indirectly).

Ok thank you. Should I delete all the files then run new wallet and install the seed? Find and save *.keys file! Better with him to restore the wallet! I don't understand ... but this version is different. I did backup all the files. If I get the old one running again ... is there a restore to click? Thx New to this type of wallet .. been mining 4 years too. EDIT: I reinstalled the old wallet .. waiting for it to fully sync for now. I downloaded the wrong wallet. Got it now...sorry for the inconvenience.

Trying to install new wallet GUI..and not sure how backup my old wallet. There is no wallet.dat file. Any help plz? Running windows 64 bit. Thx You can either restore the wallet with the .keys file + its password or the 25 word mnemonic seed. Note that, on Windows, you can find the .keys file in Documents\Monero.

Has the GUI window scaling issue on low-resolution displays (i.e. a netbook's maximum screen resolution of 1024 x 600) been resolved in the latest GUI release? Pardon me as I haven't been regularly following this thread since I brought it up a couple of months ago.
I'd suggest to try it out and if it doesn't work properly for you, please open an issue on Github (or post it here and I'll add it to Github).

Is it odd that a block explorer would show (exact) transaction amount as the sum of fees for the block in question? I mean, how likely is that?
Could you link to the specific block?

Should I have on my tin foil hat? Producing cryptographic keys generally is cpu intensive. You should have had that on a few cpu generations back. Backdoors abound in all sorts of hardware.

There was already an issue thread on Github which I added onto. Since it is still "Open", I assume that it hasn't been resolved...or has it? https://github.com/monero-project/monero-core/issues/754
