Market volume for the last 5 days have been at least $500K. There have been no whales in NEM and therefore the conclusion is, either there has been a big player pumping it, or NEM is undergoing a realistic price discovery phase, given its way undervalued price in the first place.

My question then is, would someone risk putting in $500K to pump up an unknown coin and possibly end up being a bag holder? Why not pump another unknown coin instead? Hence, pumping is quite unlikely. It appears to be a general rise, coupled with panicked buying, and awareness of NEM, with one feeding the other in a sustained rise.

Fall in price, it will, but I doubt we will ever see the days of 30 Sat again, unless there is a big calamity in NEM, or someone who is so generous to sell down $500K's worth of XEM and be a Santa clause.

pump group targeted XEM market
after lot up and down
price is expected to settle around 60-80
and from there grow slowly natural again

Having some trouble setting up a super node on a second pc (win10). I downloaded the standalone and change the nis config, but when I double click on runMon or runNis. a window briefly appears and then disappears ? any ideas

Here is the tutorial for stand alone.  http://blog.nem.io/windows-installation-guide-standalone/

If the command prompt is appearing and disappearing there is definitely something making it crash.  It is important to make sure you have Java updated.  That could cause it.

If you messed up the config files that could do it too.

If you run the command prompt with commands to start NEM, you can see the exact error.

If you want to post a screen shot of your NIS config file (don't show any private key) in the Slack chat or your error reports, somebody could help you too that way.  The Slack invite link is in my signature.

I would like to run a supernode, but for "Joe Average", the prodedure is to complicated.
So i will wait for a "supernode one click installer button" for the stand alone client

Is one click supernode in the work?

tbh, right now we have not planned that. Unzipping and configuring a text file shouldn't be too hard.

There are 11 steps but I tried to make them very clear and careful and designed the tutorial for the average person.  If I was designing it for techie people it would have been much shorter.

It would have been.  Run a full node booted with your private delegate key.  Download the servant.  Edit the config file with your IP and private delegated key.  Send a message to NAFUNDBUKIOSTMD4BNXL7ZFE735QHN7A3FBS6CMY saying "enroll (IP) (node name) (public delegated key)" and then check http://supernodes.nem.io/ for your results.

For many people, that is literally all the instructions they need.

That was basically the instructions that were given to me by the dev, but I wanted to make sure that absolutely anybody could do it, even if they didn't know NEM so I wrote a big long tutorial explaining everything in detail.  But please don't let it overwhelm you; its really only 4 steps.

Are the Devs selling into this pump? There is a huge jump in the orderbook of number of nem 4sale from 70ish million this morning to 128million now

Have you got proof that it is a pump ? .....  Zaif is a big exchange in Japan where there is more knowledge of NEM......there is talk of NEM being added soon...maybe some insiders know this and are buying in wait.................who knows ......a pump ? ......I dont think so Wink

If ZAIF will trade XEM on the Exchange, than they need XEM to trade it, or not? so they have to buy XEM to put it into the Exchange, or are they recieving XEM for free?  Roll Eyes  . Its a big big big speculation to say that the CEO himself or any other member of ZAIF buys some XEM to put it at first on the Exchange and make easy 500.000k $   to  2,5Mil $  or more,  Roll Eyes . And iam sure that some other NEM Member have more information about whats going on atm.

yes speculation, although possible!

I have said this before that XEM getting added to ZAIF, would be a pretty BIG deal and people shouldn't be counting on this for sure.  Zaif is the most trusted exchange in Japan.  You can basically think of it as their Coinbase.  It isn't an altcoin exchange.  They mainly just deal in BTC <-> JYP.  The do however list Mona <-> JYP which is like the unofficial Japan coin.  You can think of it like OKcoin in China which is the biggest Bitcoin exchange in China but they have BTC and LTC because LTC is very popular in China.  So basically Zaif is an exclusive exchange and has a very good reputation.

IF and I say "IF" NEM is added, then that would be really good news for us.  A lot of people in the Bitcoin community in Japan would instantly be aware of us, and we can assume that some would buy in, maybe even some whales.

Hi everyone! couple days ago i shut down ncc from nem monitor menu, and then i want to start it again - it didn't. I reinstall the java, nem wallet, trying standalone version, it just don't start.
Then i launch installer version, it say nis is launching, ncc stopped. Pressing launch ncc in monitor menu gives nothing. Nis starts perfectly in both versions(standalone and installer).

OKWave's trading was halted by going up too much based on news of using Mijin (this made national news): http://www.asahi.com/business/stock/kabuto/Ctkkabuto1820255.html

Let's hope we get XEM/JPY, XEM/CNY, etc. soon!   Wink
Why not asking BTCBOX if they are interested in adding XEM/JPY or did this already happen?
https://www.btcbox.co.jp/

Apart from Zaif, now maybe also good time to request XEM being added to BTCBOX.  This is one of Japan's largest exchanges.

Point to Poloniex to give them an idea of the recent volume  Grin

Just shot them an e-mail as I use them as my main exchange for buying BTC.

less circle jerking and more answers to why people can't get ncc to boot?

I can't provide an answer as to the why, but I can comment on potential solutions.

Speaking from personal experience, I usually make this particular problem go away by deleting the ncc.cfg & accounts_cache_mainnet files from the ncc folder.  The one time it didn't work I had to also delete the db.

Thanks a LOT! problem solved)

I was referring to the ncc folder that also contains the wallet files.

Yeah i found the one, i was looking in program files.

Anyway ive deleted all the files including the database, and i still cant start NCC.

Hmmm...   last thing I can think of is making sure all java processes terminate properly before restarting...   Undecided

I dont even see the java process running, so its weird why im having trouble.

Just tried NXT and java starts fine.

NEM wasn't booting for me either (only the spinning mouse cursor spinned for a bit and then nothing, as nzminer said), but I guess it was the antivirus (avast) blocking it: as, testing, I have disabled avast for 10 minutes, and NEM loaded normally.

Now I have added an exception on the avast config, excluding NEM folder from the antivirus protection, and it's working perfectly.

Good that I didn't have to redownload everything again.

Hi Kelsey,

I have also been trying to find the exact source of the rise.  Can you please tell us their name?  I would like to research them more.

I personally didn't think it was a pump group, but it is so hard to tell in these things especially with this activity.

I think pump groups have no reason to play at the ground of only 2M USD market cap of NEM.
Recent pump might be done by insiders of ZAIF or a certain company that made a partnership with NEM.
They may have planned to use XEM in their business in the future, so wanted to buy XEM at cheap price for the future.
If my guess is right, the price/market/future of NEM will be..... Grin

Sorry if this has been asked before, but how much XEM do you get from harvesting? Couldn't find it in the first few pages of this thread or the FAQ. I would like a simple formula, like you'll get x% per day, if you have y XEM vested and you don't do any transactions, but just harvest.

There is no fixed rate. You get the fees that other users pay for tx in the block you harvest. No tx means no fees means no reward. If there are tx you'll get a reward depending on how much XEMs were payed in fees.
