It's been a while. Is Nem launching soon?

We hope yes. If not then not. I'm not too worried about WHEN we launch. For me it's important HOW we launch. Launching a stable network that is absoutely bullet-proof and well tested is much more important to me than launching next month or even this year.
Only few coins that have released recently have been written from scratch and they are facing serious issues. I don't know how Crypti is doing but NODE had some outages recently...again. This can't and won't happen to us because we won't release until we're absolutely ready for it.
I don't mean to say we're taking things slow - hell no. We're going as fast as possible but as slow as neccessary. People will be able to be confident in our software and network from day 1 and that is worth a lot more than launching before some imaginary deadline.

Other things - beside devlopment - also take time but as xtester said those things will be announce soon

Agree with pat and rockethead. Quality is our primary goal so we are speeding as much as possible toward that. Though as we all know, quality takes time, a lot of time. At the end of the day our dev team is prepared to invest more time than give up on quality, and NEM is very different because of that.

I agree. I'd rather have to wait a few more months if it means having everything working right from the start, including the added features. I was an early adopter of NXT and I have already lost track of how many times the wallet client quit working on me and I had to do an update by some block that was found yesterday, then download the whole block chain all over again (doing that now, as a matter of fact). It seems each time a feature is added to the platform it requires a wallet update. I understand NEM will probably require wallet updates from time to time, but it would sure be nice if they could be limited to once or twice a year. I'd love to be able to just use NEM without having to think about how the wallet works too much

Not that I'm complaining about NXT, or anything. It was a foundational currency and I knew that even with the technical difficulties I was making history by being part of it. I'm just not too keen on repeating some of that history

Anyway, I'm really excited about NEM's upcoming launch and being a part of that... whenever it happens. Looking forward to the announcements on Sunday.

NEM hasn't been released yet, the official blockchain hasn't been born yet.  It could have been at anytime.  The basic blockchain and messaging functions work well and have for some time.  New code and new platform.  But the devs are trying to put in some special features so when NEM launches it can already do things on day 1 that others can't. 

Ok cool but is there anyway to see that my stake has been sent in and I will receive the coins? Cause right now I dont even know if it went through right?

lol. At least i got heard. I'd recommend to try to get more quality posts in here and avoid controversal discussion like the stake-thing. This thread is such a bad PR-job.
Why be scared and defensive? Be funny! Chill out. All good. Launch the baby and don't be so greedy beforehand, alright? In coins you need to look  for consensus to get the shit running good. I know most people don't understand that idea. If everyone was oriented and geared towards consensus things would be running way easier. But most are used to 'just have it their way' and everyone fears not to get it their way so they fight over it. But that's not how it works.

Right now there is only a documentation for the communication of clients with NCC.

Its the same in Scotland, nearly everyone speaks English. Gaelic is mostly spoken in the western Highlands and Islands..eg skye and outer hebrides. Actually there is another language/dialect inland from Aberdeen where DORIC is spoken. Its murder to understand.....Im a scot and remember speaking to people from all over the world on holiday at a bar in Kos...the only couple I couldnt understand were fellow scots who spoke doric.

Ok cool I see it thanks. How about the total amount of NEM the account owns? That would prob be helpful to keep track of the amount of stake I sent in

I can't start the NEM.jar with my Linux system. Also the webstart doesn't work for me. It says 'install the latest have version', although the latest java version is installed. Also my LG G3 isn't supported by Java at the webstart.

Are these errors known and worked on? Because as long as they stay like this I can't complete redemption phase 2.

Are you trying it on your smartphone ? I don't think that's going to work right now.
