With BitStamp having lost funds there is yet another BTC exchange in trouble now. You know what could solve all these problems and revitalize trust in exchanges? Multisig.

Guess which crypto is going to have multisig as a standard feature as part of its official wallet right from the start? NEM.

BitStamp's failure is just another negative for Bitcoin and another positive for NEM in my opinion.

Well, yes that's true. Bitcoin does have it but it's not exactly a well-known feature or easy to use as far as I know. I think after all these exchange hacks it will surely come into use more though. I still think NEM having it built into the wallet from launch and touted as a standard feature bodes well for NEM.

IMHO as long as we have a solid launch it doesn't matter at all if it's Jan, Feb or even later. I look around and I see other cryptos that have launched too early still trying to cleanup their mess. If we can saves ourselves that trouble then i say we shall go for it.

Hopefully, if there are no major problems with the multi-sig, we should be able to launch in February. A firm date will be announced later."

For those that wanted to see that mentioned. I am curious how the number of coins changing is going to affect us. Thanks to everyone working so hard ion this!

That to me is an implication of NOT launching in FEB. But you know I hope Im wrong. You guys have done a great job I believe man. I don't think its a scam at all. We are in this for the long run. Realy realy nice neWs! thanks for all the efforts of the NEM Dev Team. , we gonna rock this year!.  The way of distribution of unclaimed stakes is a nice solution, i full agree with your decision.

A solid launch is important, if we take a look to node or some before,  the way of how you handle that is a example for everybody else!.

It's surely not a scam but they look a bit afraid to release Nem and see it eventually fail or "not doing so well" imo by postponing forever for whatever reason, that tiny amount of 144 stakes on nxt ae on a ridiculous volume is confortable but is no real price indicator compared to open exchange with volume, price manipulation etc within a hard crypto context...9 billions coins is a lot ffs.

i understand what they're doing, polishing a product to make it irreproachable, but extreme perfectionism is a bi*tch, hope we don't lose momentum and interest.

Afaic i'm disappointed mainly because Alpha state looked so advanced already this summer and now we're stuck with a postpone-fest launch date 6 months later with almost no "objective" progress for the not-so-techy.

I just hope we don't end up launching in the same time than Ethereum, nobody wants to release a movie during the same weeks than a Star Wars blockbuster haha
