Does anybody have any feedback?

We need a pool
For nem

Pool = centralization

We don't like it.

Use remote harvesting on someone else's node if you don't want to run one yourself.

For nem

Use remote harvesting on someone else's node if you don't want to run one yourself.

It is super easy to run a node oneself in the background if a person has a decent computer.  On my computer the NEM client does take a chunk of RAM, but only uses like 2% of my processor.  And for those people that don't have a gig of ram to spare and 2% of processing power, then they can always ask somebody else to harvest for them via delegated harvesting, an action which doesn't really cost the delegated node anything except the time it takes to add a person or set it up so they can add themselves.

This basically takes the best part of mining (not having to mess with a full node if you don't have the connection or know how) and combines it with Satoshi's original Bitcoin.  In those days Bitcoin was all about people running nodes on their home computers.  That was before there was Asics or big mining pools that centralized Bitcoin.  At one point Bitcoin had over 300,000 nodes, and now it is down to less than 6,000 and the mining pools will probably make that go down even much further than that.

NEM brings back the early decentralized spirit of anybody and everybody running a node.  A one-click installer that lets a light server run in the background.

Have you checked out the NEM Forum ? A new company has been formed to build an Exchange for easy Fiat / XEM trading . Voting on whether it gets some Community Funding starts on the 13 th August.

No I heard about that. It's just... I mean, that's it? That's all the current news? No wonder Etherium is kicking our ass.

I will make a news round up this weekend.

And I think if we had 12 million dollars for development and marketing we would be a real force to reckon with.

If you think Ethereum is best, why don't you know how to spell it? Btw worst means sausage over here in the Netherlands and that's something I like very much.

Well, at least Makoto will now stop claiming nem is highest rated coin of 2015, despite very low volume and clearly no interest.

Why all the hate? Just let the people develop and you can then choose which one to use.. All have their up and down sides..

XEMsign - Automated cosignature Smiley
Written in JavaScript for NodeJs.

Review, fork, use, improve => GitHub

Still pretty basic code that needs lots of improvements but it does the job Cool

You absolutely must know how to correctly use multi signatures accounts before use or your XEMs can be lost forever !

Few questions:

How many XEM would you like a faucet to give out ?
Do you want it instant or every n amount ?
How many time between claims ?

Storing your files on 3rd party servers makes them vulnerable to hackers or the NSA. I do not use centralized cloud services like Dropbox,
Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive or iCloud.

Even if your tin-foil-hat like  concerns were real (as if NSA cares about your files), you can encrypt the data before storing them on 3rd party services like Dropbox. There are tools that make that easy and simple process.

I have no concerns about my truecrypt container synced with dropbox.  Even if NSA has access to it, the probability they will be able to decrypt is close to zero.

I think 1k to start with should be fine
Within a couple of minutes I'd like to see the pending tx in my account
Depensd on the amount. At 1k I'd say once every 48 hours.

I'd also set a daily limit for the faucet as a whole. Say 100k.

Does your software cosign every transaction it sees or is it possible to define some rules?

It would be nice to have rules like:
sign transactions up to 1000 XEM
sign no more than 100 transactions per hour
sign no more than 1 transaction per day to the same recipient address
...

The readme on github states that there are already some rules.
Obviously a lot more is possible.

@patmast3r

Sounds good to me Smiley
Let's see what other nembers think

@rigel

Sure it can do a lot more, there is only a limit per tx and dayli amount for now. The multsignature transaction will be initiated faucet side to manage user claims. So addresses claiming from the faucet.

Actually the only issue is if there are too many requests closes to  each others. It only signs the last unconfirmed transaction it sees, some requests just could never be executed and included in blocks as when the limit is reached it does not sign anymore.

Ex:
T1: 2/3 (cosig 1 and 2)
T2: 2/3 (cosig 1 and 3)
T3: 2/3 (cosig 1 and 2)
...
Dayli amount reached, stop signing.
...

I found the solution, I'll try to implement batch co-signing today, to sign all valid unconfirmed transactions at once.
