Looks like it needs people to have joined and have an order history to vote. I'll take a quick look at the site to see how legit it is before joining and voting. Good idea. Keep us informed pls. Looks like BTER is the 32nd most popular exchange with $200k daily volume - bittrex is $520k in comparison. Its been around since at least 2013 and has about 130 trading pairs registered split between BTC and CNY. Registered offices are in the British Virgin Islands. IP address is based in USA (changed 40 times in 12 years), looks like its owned by a Chinese holding company. Doesn't feel any less legit than other exchanges. There is little to no presence on bitcointalk (which is understandable as most people using it will be from China). One thing that needs a bit more research is that most of their trading is in a currency called GEMZ - which I never heard of. I might push a few DOGE to the exchange and do some trading there. oh nice info about this trading site if chinese mostly trade from it theres a lots of good potential for this coin to move their and start to gain new investors lets check and see how this will work for Magi project.

Its pretty much only used by this exchange - its probably a good way for people over their to trade into BTC. Doesn't look as dodgy as I first thought. https://asktom.cf/index.php?topic=758004.0My feeling is that its safe to register on here.

Hi, a bit strange to meet people from crypto community never heard about Bter exchange BTER has quite a controversial reputation - eg check the story happened during Lisk ICOthe problems with deposits and withdrawals of some coins (eg XCP, DASH, NXT, XMR) is a usual matter for BTER And though it's safe to register it's not so safe to use, at least for the customers outside China. As for GEMZ (GetGemz) - it's a CounterParty token, delisted from Poloniex, but still traded at BitTrex, with no Chinese relations, more info you can find in the official blog

Looks like you need to do a fair amount of trading to be able to vote on that exchange - it'll be difficult to add enough votes on here without massive effort from the community, and even then we need to be able to drum up enough interest from the Chinese markets and make sure there is enough Magi on the exchange not to end up with a liquidity problem.

The GEMZ BCT post didn't look like it had a Chinese origin. I thought it was very strange that about 95% of the coin is traded on BTER. I do have a vague recollection of seeing it on Poloniex now you mention it...

I still can't figure my problem out . I don't now if someone added something since last time but I did not see it. Do you still have the ability to load your old wallet on the Pi? Maybe its possible to create a new wallet on the PC and simply transfer the funds from the Pi to a new address rather than restore the wallet. Another option could be to check the encoding on the file, long-shot, but maybe the Linux wallet is using a different text encoding mechanism to the windows.

Hi ricket, Yes there currently is a PoI, the rate depends upon the number of people who join. This link should give you all the right details for joining and information about the campaign: - https://asktom.cf/index.php?topic=735170.msg16275296#msg16275296

Where is the network hash rate coming from? According to http://poolinfo.coinmagi.org/ the network hash rate is 76.60 Mh/s, however the top two pools Suprnova and MaxMiners only account for about 30MH/s of this. The remaining pools listed barely scrape 8MH/s between them. So what am I missing?

Which one of the pools is the largest?
Suprnova contributes about 20Mh/s solo miners , private pools
That would mean solo miners or private pools contribute more than 50% of the network hash rate! The current rate of 76Mh/s isn't that high either, I've seen it exceeding 120Mh/s recently too with no big change in the listed pools. At this time private pools / solo miners would contribute more than 66% of the network hash rate?! Isn't anyone concerned about this with regards to a 51% attack?

Suprnova.cc is the largest pool, at least it was last time I checked - however its also nice to support the smaller pools if you have a lot of hashing power.

I don’t think that a 51% attack is an issue. Around 68% of the blocks are extracted by proof of stake now in various different wallets. The five day time for maximum coin weight on POS should keep wallets from running up weight when not contributing to minting blocks on the block chain too. https://chainz.cryptoid.info/xmg/#!extraction There are other issues with large proof of work miners extracting all the blocks as previously discussed but a 51% attack is a minor concern imho.
