with the current network hashrate you will earn less than nothing with 33k. xmgpool has ~4,23Mh/s and 165 miners, maybe it will be better to switch to pool with less miners and similar hashrate. xpoolx is ~3,29Mh/s and only 58 miners - just my thinking...

Anyone else not earning anything on mining?
I've got three "machines" mining for around a grand total around 33 khash/s And the last 24 hours I've earned nothing. Yet all the miners are working as they should. I'm using xmgpool
A little of topic at the moment but thought I'd ask! Thanks

If all these wallets listen on same port of yr PC... then yes only one will work, or you should change port numbers

maybe some usefull information about staking:

set in magi.conf
Code:
stakesplitthreshold=50
stakecombinethreshold=25

this allows us to stake a lot every few minutes with small fractions of ~ 30 - 60 XMG per stake at the moment.

let's say you have 1000 XMG or more, if you let them split down to smaller portions your posibility to stake is much higher, because you'll only stake with small fractions, your total weight will be higher and one can stake more often.

that's what i notice in our wallet. maybe play with the numbers.

have some addresses with 1000 XMG and inside 30 smaller tx (splits).

stake screenshot: https://img.static.lu/show/cu6NfeA0Y5jcaL0v

we'll lower the numbers today to following and see how next days evolve.
Code:
stakesplitthreshold=10
stakecombinethreshold=5

a stake needs 520 blocks (~ 9 hours) to confirm and to be able to stake 24/7 you need a decent amount of XMG splitted into smaller fractions Wink

Hello folks, I passionately followed the coin, today after seeing the result of mining I realize something very simple, this currency is easy to corrupt and collapse, these days as things are with the market for cryptocurrencies and impositions from different governments, I realize that yes, a government would like to end with xmg, simply redirecting a lot of hash rate towards the mining of this, ruining the whole network, since it would not reward anyone, a government can give itself the pleasure of doing this and believe me that sooner or later this will happen, today I abandon the mining of this currency, there are many more profitable than this, then from the fork everything went to sink (and I do not speak of the price) a hacker took rewards and that keep this currency active take the punishment, is my simple point of view, goodbye XMG

Magi team already mentioned that. Big miners would earn more with using there big hashrate to mine other currencies. If they leave the blockrewards will go up & thats better for the miners who do understand the Magi project. Thanks for your opinion here! Next time use black its easier to read.

I think I was clear with what I mention, it's as simple as saying "if someone wants to destroy the network, just point the money to this currency" and end of the story

The big hash rate is not ruining the whole network, only the rewards. And I guess the latest is your real problem.   Roll Eyes

I am sorry about this as I am sure it has been covered but I have read through 15 plus pages with out finding anything. Does anybody know of an eta for these coins to be deposited to crytopia as it is still showing as blocked until the devs open it up. This is the first currency I have mined and I am keen to move funds from mining to an exchange to start learning how the whole system works and build up experience in trading currencies. I am still continuing to mine despite the big boys getting in the way of the true spirit of the coin and have 16 RP3's locked together to mine the coin on a permanent basis whilst keeping under 100KH/s. I am pretty much just leaving that rig running forever but would really like the opportunity to do more with the coin than simply mine it.

Awesome. thanks for the insight. I will look into that! I started doing all this during the fork and just went to the one that was up and running. I will keep that in mind when I look at other pools!

This sounds good in practice, but how does staking 50 coins compare to staking 200 coins as far as rewards?  What I am asking, basically, is if I only stake 50 coins won't I get less reward than if I stake 200 coins and wait for the 'cooling off period'?

Aren't staking rewards based on the amount staked and the age of the coins?  If I split my coins into 50 coin segments instead of staking the entire 200 coins, won't I receive less reward?

This is an honest question that you might be able to answer through the experimentation you are currently conducting.
