What is happening with the hard fork? Will it produce another coin like the bitcoin cash case? If so where is the best place to keep my monero when the fork takes place?

nothing to worry about, no new coin will start to exist.

XMR will be the highlight of today... Im calling a 15% rise as this china news settles and everyone gets out of all the shitcoin ICO's

XMR seems to be moving lockstep with BTC recently.

Indeed, if this is the bottom of this correction in BTC, we will follow it up.  Gut feeling: This will mean increase (short term) in XMR /BTC, then a medium term continuing increase in USD value as BTC climbs and confirms uptrend.

If BTC does stabilise now, new ATH (think post Silk Road in BTC 2013) for BTC and much higher BTC price towards the year-end and Spring is on the cards.

I hope we will feel this rise steadily in USD terms, until another slingshot moment for XMR - which, let's face it, happens a couple of times a year at least.

A 200-300 USD XMR is not so far off as long as the BTC long-term bull trend is not broken, which I don't think it is.

The next 24 hours for BTC really are critical Wink

the China shit has already been flushed down the toilet..

check the charts and zoom out to the 1D - this is a smaller drop than happened on 27th may in % terms

Seems Monero will see some magical months now. So many things lined up till Christmas.

Agreed a hardware wallet opens XMR to a totally new class of high net worth investor.

This is fucking huge.

These are all good news for monero investors. I'm one of them with small piece of cake. But issue for me is that I don't have ledger, I have trezor thing. So trezor won't be supporting it?

I'm concentrating on its price on the exchangers, trying to discover a buy point.

hey for sure will, but question is when.
Their plan was to first make new version Trezor v2 and only later add new coins. Trezor v2 should be here in upcoming moths and after that I am positive they will focus and rush to add Monero to it.

EDIT- fuck those shitcoins anyway - only 79K XMR for sale on polo 39K on trex...

No mater how price moves, up or down, I see everyday less and less XMR on Poloniex sell side. Now imagine when Hardware wallets kicks in. XMR sell side will start looking as DASH one with only few coins on sale.

ETH is fucked with the ICO ban, the market will get interesting for the rest of the week I am sure. some big big winners and some massive losers.
Wait, what? I guess I'm not in the know this time, mind explaining the ICO ban to me?

they are also going after the exchanges that list ICO coins, this is so bullish for BTC, LTC, XMR, Dash and even Cripple.. shit even Tether is trading above parity.

Monero is one of only 3 projects, of the top 20, that are in full compliance with FINCEN and SEC rules. The other two being Bitcoin and Litecoin. Aminorex's predictions for the following year are starting to sound more and more likely.

what? which 3 are in full compliance with fincen and sec rules exactly?

Original commenter's opinion bolded above.

Old news to people reading this thread:

https://qz.com/1069077/bitcoin-fails-as-a-haven-amid-fears-of-nuclear-conflict-between-us-and-north-korea/

We're not quite "there" yet.

Although I agree with that analysis, I do believe the current situation is more complex than just seeing if Crypto is ready to be a safe haven during war.  The China news, I think, may be playing a more primary role in the current pullback than speculation around Korea.

Has anyone been able to cash out of Monero?

I am having a truly Kafkaesque exerience. I'm tier 4 verified on Kraken, but have been unable to withdraw any funds to my bank account. No explanation so far. My bank account details are all correctly entered.

I gave my church a substantial amount of Monero. They spent 3 months getting verified on Kraken but have also been unable to withdraw any funds. They were told that the wire transfer process has to be separately verified. They are trying to jump through all the hoops but I am beginning to lose hope.

Similar problems on Coinbase. I have tried selling Bitcoin on Coinbase but the transaction has been rejected because I am "over the weekly limit", which I'm clearly not. This used to work.

And I'm having the same problems on goldmoney.com. Not a cryptocurrency but again transfer out is not working for nonsensical reasons.

I'm starting to wonder whether the whole cryptocurrency world, if not the entire financial world, is fake. What does the Monero price matter if there's no real world liquidity?

Anyone else having similar problems?

Bitcoin really fails as safe haven.
How can we call it safe when it isn't that private.
In 5 to 10 years from now, I believe Monero will be the safest haven and will be treated like gold in the old days.  Cool
Quote

No cryptocurrency will work as a safe haven against war/disaster, none of them will work if we lose power and internet. Otherwise Bitcoin would work just as well as Monero, it would just be more traceable.

I have yet to sell any Monero, but your difficulties are precisely the sort of thing I'm worried about. Please let us know the outcome.

No mater how price moves, up or down, I see everyday less and less XMR on Poloniex sell side. Now imagine when Hardware wallets kicks in. XMR sell side will start looking as DASH one with only few coins on sale.

I've noticed that on Polo. Has anyone followed the volume on Bittrex? How has volume changed there in the past few weeks? I suspect it has increased, and if so, what is your estimate of how much of the increase is new traders vs. polo exodus? Btw I've never had problems on polo other than it taking 6 weeks to get to Level 2.

I know it isn't ideal but Have you tried buying btc with your xmr and then cashing out? Or do you have any btc's to test?
