Just like Bitcoin, Ethereum had it fair share of booms and busts in the past, even though its much newer.

It had a very succesful launch back in Summer of 2015 but at the end of the year, it broke $1/per ETH.

Then in the Summer of 2016, it reached a high of $15 or so and then due to the DAO hack it kept crashing down to like $7 or so.

Same thing in Summer of 2017, it peaked at $400 and went almost to $100 right before hitting the $1400 ATH in 2018.

If you believe in the technology then just hold your coins, don't buy more or overinvest if you don't think you can deal with the financial losses however.

I don't mind their technology level, I admit after bitcoin they have the most talented and productive team behind any cryptocurrency.
What concerns me is the fundamental wrong direction things have went in terms of the actual service the coin intends to deliver.

Yes definite optimism is needed. This is the era of Decentralization and AI. We still have miles to go. Ether will survive, we just need to see the possibilities.

it is not known how much bitcoin will cost in 4 years, but it is known that the ether will cost whereas now bitcoin costs because 4 years ago bitcoin cost as now ether  Wink

Bitcoin has almost X5.86 more bigger market cap than you can calculate by yourself how bigger it need to reach there and where should it will go. From my point of view after 4 years Bitcoin will be around 250k because it has potential.

we are at the same difficulty that was on February 2018.  Cool

and the hashrate & diff has a downtrend
those who are still mining ETH are getting good rewards (speaking in coins, not in fiat)

If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.

It's interesting with ETC indeed.
The Ethereum Foundation keeps praising ETC and donating money to them, like last time $150,000
https://medium.com/@virgilgr/special-projects-announces-donation-to-ethereum-classic-cooperative-e3bc28c95d0
Vitalik Buterin always talk rubbish about ETH and its price, and instead always praises ETC.

have you an idea of the real reason?

As I said before, they could be playing the "compassionate / philantropist / charitable" persona just to attract more prestige.

Other than that, a theory is that Buterin could have been really bitter that he misses the bullrun of his own creation (apparently he sold almost all his ETH when the price was single digit) that now all he feels is resentment for those who instead could profit on it.

Either way, with ETC you have everything good about ETH without the bad parts.
Its market cap sitting at 4% of that of ETH makes it a good buy IMO.
Also don't forget it's one of the big 5 on coinbase's home page.

0.5%

I believe the technology. I still mine ETH with my GPU, in the mean time, heating my home.

XRP took the 2nd spot and with more than $40b advantage in marketcap. Something needs to happen so that ETH will come back. I'm not losing any hope with this coin and I know it will get back. I'm hodling into it.

It is just $4B gap but in long term it will become hard for XRP to keep maintain this level. I also have very good hope about the future of ETH sooner or later it will make comeback to its original place so we have to stay positive in this duration.

Bitcoin is down from 18000 to 4500. Worth 1/4 of ATH.
Ethereum is down from 1300 to 130. Worth 1/10 of ATH.

That's a huge fucking difference.

it's a similar comparison on Gold & Silver
In a year (period from today2017/today2018) the gold looses only 4%, but the silver looses 14%
as long as BTC has more than 51% value in whole crypto capitalization, other crypto will be valued according to BTC as BTC=gold

If you don't believe it or don't get it, I don't have the time to try to convince you, sorry.

Agreed with you BTC is in very strong position with 53% dominance in this ecosystem so that it doesn't make any sense to make compare both coins at this stage. I hope in future ETH will get nice value and this will be nice for long term investors.

according to the survey, bitcoin and ether are equal, therefore capitalization will also strive for equality https://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#dominance-percentage

on a falling trend, the gap is growing, and on a growing narrowing

If you check out the scammers on ethtrader reddit you will see they already re drew the target and are now calling for 5 more years.. Anything to distract from their last few dozen failed predictions.

I have to LOL. these scammers will say anything and always comment to target the mood and market, they said it was a great opportunity to load up at $700 and get it while its this cheap.

The fact and evidence remains, eth is 99% scam traffic and 99% useless and that is why BTC is outperforming .

Didn't you just humiliate yourself with the last chart you drew us. Remember price is going up powerfully ? Price check, it did the exact opposite and dropped $40 USD.

The price of ethereum decreased due to the large amount scam of ICO projects and investors lost interest with this demand for eth also decreased.

Yes but I wouldn't be so sure to see ETH as silver.. there's dozens of other aspiring "silvers" on coinmarket cap, whereas nobody would ever argue BTC is gold.
