ICO ban is good for ETHf. Nobody would buy ETHf to get into an ICO. Only people that already have ETHf would. Later those ETHf are sold to pay for cars, salaries and rent offices. This is why from ETH investment perspective buying ETHc is much better than buying ETHf.

Given the market movements of the last 18+ months...do you really believe that??  

Why the last 18+ months? Why not the last 6+ months? Or the last 3+ months...

Why the last 18+ months? Why not the last 6+ months? Or the last 3+ months...

Because larger data sets tend offer more insight.

With Ice age that already released through first difficulty increase and that means hybrid becomes a real thing in the future. Consider POS casper is not fully mean ethereum will move into the POS system. It looks like ethereum still needed miners to keep the decentralization.

Correct. It's already been confirmed that before we see full PoS, there will be a hybrid PoW/PoS consensus model. From the interviews I've listened to on the subject, it sounds like it will work a lot like Decred's PoW/PoS system (though, without the voting capabilities).

such cheap price and analyzing eth chart of past two months it seems eth will touch 400$
for the current developments eth price is not effecting but going down more day by day

I think so too. I think that the market will turn around soon. Now they are just trying to get rid of stubborn ones from the market. The easiest way is for those who bought eth for $ 10-50.

Hello Ethereum community. Is the platform still scheduled to make the switch to Casper this year? If not this year, then when? I reckon it would be in the interest of Vitalik for Ethereum to stay as a proof of work coin or not, depending on what his stance on ASICs is.

Bitmain is coming for Ethereum.



Susquehanna reduced its rating to negative from neutral and lowered its price target for AMD shares, citing impending competition from cryptocurrency mining company Bitmain.

"During our travels through Asia last week, we confirmed that Bitmain has already developed an ASIC [application-specific integrated circuit] for mining Ethereum, and is readying the supply chain for shipments in 2Q18," analyst Christopher Rolland wrote in a note to clients Monday. "While Bitmain is likely to be the largest ASIC vendor (currently 70-80% of Bitcoin mining ASICs) and the first to market with this product, we have learned of at least three other companies working on Ethereum ASICs, all at various stages of development."

Why Ethereum still not upgrade to POS. We have been waiting for so long time

Because making changes that are as huge as switching your algo takes much time. You couldn't honestly expect an overnight change and you would be surprised by the time they have already spent and the time it will still take to roll out. I would say give it until Q3-Q4 for the roll out, but even then don't hold your breathe.

Has it been set in stone that Ethereum goes full POS? Isn't there still the possibility that they will go with a hybrid system or has that been ruled out?

Still, we don't have any news about the POS, only people are talking about the ETH pos. If they start converting from POW to POS and it is going to be another good option for Ethereum.

It is still in development, Casper is its codename.

There will be a major bull run this year. Keep in mind that Goldman Sachs bought Poloniex, they didn't do that for fun. What's happening now is manipulation to provide big financial players with favorable entry prices. A bull run will come, I am absolutely sure about that.

Good observation and I agree with it. I also come to think about it. Goldman Sachs can see it clearly that crypto currencies will be having its breakthrough soon so they entered when the market is at heavy dip.

With its current collapse (especially against BTC), the following makes any sense, no?

33.3% of the trade will be the mere minimum that will be affected, and does yet not take into account the USD and Bitfinex (which are both tied to USDT in some sort) and the subsequent decline of as well Ethereum:

Ethereum will be crippled if USDT fails, because not only is USDT entwined in 24.9% of all Ethereum trades, the effect is complementary to USDT affecting the underlying BTC price as well. ETH/BTC will drastically alter  when a run from tokens>eth>btc>fiat starts. Most ERC20 tokens might lose up most if not all their current value. Actually this drain of value from ERC20 tokens has been going on for some time already, very slowly, and with a subtle price pump now and then for the more "popular" tokens, to keep people believing in those ridiculous projects.
