Tahir did the right thing by migrating to South Africa, at a time when South Africa was losing so many of its native-born players to teams such as England and New Zealand. Had he remained in Pakistan, then most probably he would have never got the recognition and fame.

That can be said about Usman Khawaja too, if they were in Pakistan i really do not think so they would have got to the national team let alone fame and recognition, they made the right choice at the right time and so is the reason they are performing for the team they represent and they are doing that really well. I am not happy with the Indian selection omitting players like Pant who will strike the ball really well and Ambati Rayudu who averages 47.

Thanks for the link. Why is the West Indian management taking so long to assemble their squad? Also, the Afghanistan squad is missing too. It is possible that both teams have been given more time since they qualified through the qualification stages in Zimbabwe.

I think officially they are asked to provide the squad within 30th of this month. Considering today 21st just started so they still have time.

I totally forgot about Afghanistan. I am sure they are working in it.

Usman Khawaja's case is different from that of Imran Tahir.

Imran Tahir immigrated to South Africa, in order to represent the South African side. He became a resident of South Africa at the age of 26, after a failed experiment with the English county cricket. He married a South African national later and obtained the South African citizenship.

Usman Khawaja, on the other hand immigrated to Australia with his family when he was 5 years old. And that was much before he dreamed of playing cricket. He is an Australian in every sense.

Captaincy,
Management,
Crowed,
Recent form
Fielding unit
Batting unit
Bowling unit
Ground
Pitch
Weather
Umpire
Wind
Light

and many more things matters :-P

and many more things matters :-P

Great list. Among the factors that you mentioned, fitness would be my 1st choice while crowd would be my last choice. Umpiring is another vital factor since any single decision of theirs could turn the game around.

Fitness and experience both counts in a World cup match. Consider a team who is not experienced will not be able to handle the pressure of matches like semi-final / finals etc.

I agree and that was what I discussed earlier. Both are important factors, but fitness plays a bigger role than experience in my opinion. This basically applies to any sport and not just Cricket. Players who perform well usually excel in these areas.

Please don't spread fud. Taskin isn't still fit for the world cup. He had an injury. Taskin isn't excluded for any political issue.
On the other hand, Imrul Kayes is the victim of stupid internal politics. I can tell who is the leader of this internal politics, lol. However, here's the stat of Imrul Kayes-

He played eight matches and scored 436 runs with two centuries. But he put up a dismal show in the ongoing Dhaka League.

Guys this team looking very solid. every player is in good form or doing good right now.

Fast bowler josh hazelwood ruled out due to his back injury and Peter Handscomb didn't make it into the team as well.

Both Warner and Smith made their comeback which was no brainer for any cricket lover. interestingly Smith is not doing captaincy (which is logical) and Aaron finch will captain the Oz team in World cup and they are defending champion.

I want to see David Warner in playing XI and destroying opponent bowlers on 22 yard's pitch and making statement in front of international community with the bat, that he is back!!

Taskin Ahmed is a good pacer, and no one is going to deny that. But the last time he played an ODI was almost two years back (during the tour of South Africa). And if I remember correctly, he was extremely expensive in that series, going for almost 10 runs per over. He performed well during the recent BPL tournament, but we need to admit that BPL is no way near IPL or the BBL in terms of quality. Also, the form in T20 matches can't be taken as an indicator for the ODI selection.

The Afghanistan World cup squad has been published and Rashid Khan will be the player to watch in my opinion. Mohammad Shahzad is the 2nd best player in that team thanks to this excellent batting skills according to me.

Warner will definitely will be on playing XI, but in that case, Usman Khawaja will probably not play. If Finch is going to play on one down, in that case, Khawaja has a chance to be in the XI.
