Since there is nothing interesting to talk about the matches let me tell that the innings Warner played against Pakistan where he was not connecting the ball and still went on to score a century reminded me of the innings Saeed Anwar played against India, where he was struggling with his fitness before even scoring 50 runs and yet he went on to score 194 runs and during that time i thought he would score the first double century in ODI history but Ganguly and Sachin was the main players who shut down his conquest for double century, not sure who took his wicket as it happened more than a twenty years ago but both of them were involved with his dismissal.
Seen more world cups than any other user here in this forum i guess and this is by far the most matches without any results in the history of world cups.

This tournament is turning out to be poor due to the weather playing its role in many matches and to not even have a ball bowled makes it even worse. Not sure why they scheduled the World Cup at this time of year, they should of at least started in in July or August as the weather is much better in England at that time of year. I know that there are the Ashes in August but still I think they have the timing all wrong for the World Cup. It also gives teams that ain't playing due to the weather an unfair advantage to the teams that have been able to play, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.

West Indies played some disappointing cricket today, all credit goes to England for winning this match easily. Root performed very well with the bat and deserved his century, also all other England players were outstanding on the pitch. Performances like this is the reason we all keep saying that England, is the top contender to win this year’s World Cup.

I am also against to this world cup scheduled. ICC should about this and need to postponed at least 1 month from started date. Just kidding that this world cup has two teams. One is among all cricket team in one place and another player is weather.  No team can not defense weather . Weather is playing with its speed.

England played a great game easily beating the WI and boosting their NRR to sit just behind New Zealand on the table. Australia have a chance later today to go top if they win against Sri Lanka and boost their NRR. So far the only teams to not be effected by the rain are England, Australia and Afghanistan which just shows how much the weather is playing a part in this World Cup.

Rather than the good performance by England, it was the appalling performance by the West Indies that caught my attention. After performing well during the initial one or two matches, they are back to their usual ways. The fighting spirit was completely missing from the WI team. After the fall of the first 2-3 wickets, their batsmen played as if the match is already lost.

Their batting performance is very good and they restricted the WI batsman to score low target for chasing. Till now ENG is showing their dominance in this world cup and in the coming matches we might see more good batting from the ENG team.

Their batting performance is very good and they restricted the WI batsman to score low target for chasing. Till now ENG is showing their dominance in this world cup and in the coming matches we might see more good batting from the ENG team.

Their team balance has been good so far. Both the batsmen (Bairstow, Root, Roy, Buttler.etc) and the bowlers (Archer, Wood.etc) have performed for England. When there is no place for a player like Moeen Ali in the final XI, you know how strong their team is. It was a strategic move to include Jofra Archer in the final squad. It made a lot of impact.

Srilanka is playing well in this match. Apart from the result of this match, Warner needs to focus on making runs faster and the Australian bowlers needs to take wickets. They cannot always depend upon Starc to get them breakthrough. I think Australia needs to improve a lot if they are serious in wining this world cup.

Money would be refunded whether it be on the bet or the ticket.
But ICC won't be able to refund the effect the abandoned matches would made in the points table (thank god, it's at least a whole league this time till semis.) and the disappointment inside the fans. A lot of fans are been waiting for the India Pakistan match for over a year now but that too is highly likely to be cancelled due to weather.

That was a throw away game by Sri Lanka, the middle order was non-existence. They were so close to wining and at last lost it with huge margin. They are definitely one of the weakest team in the tournament.

Australia now move to the top of the table with an easy win in the end. Yes Sri Lanka had their chance to maybe pull off an upset with the great start they had but like the previous member in here said, it was their middle order that let them down. Sri Lanka still sit 5th on the table but their NRR is poor, its hard to see any team outside the top 4 right now making it so I think we have the semi finals already, just the positions might change.

The openers gave a dream start to the chase and they were in the game till their captain Karunaratne got out missing his century and then the wickets starts falling and were folded out sooner than we all expected, both the matches today were one sided encounters where South Africa won easily after restricting Afghanistan to a low total, today we have a good match between rivals India and Pakistan and hopefully the weather here will allow us to see the match.

Rain does also have some role to play and due to rain the pitch might change a bit and can prove a worthy to some particular side if overs get short and thus it could favor some country as D/L system might come into effect .

At this point of time, one has to agree that India are the overwhelming favorites to win the game. Pakistan is no longer counted among the top cricketing sides and in the meantime India have grown leaps and bounds.

And the good news from Old Trafford is that the the weather predictions have improved when compared to yesterday. The chance of a rain during the first half is 15% to 20%, while the same for the second half is 25% to 30%. Yesterday it was close to 55%.
